District 2 today: An Khanh, Binh Trung and Cat Lai wards
Ho Chi Minh City has had wards in place of districts since 1 July 2025. Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15 turned District 2 into An Khanh, Binh Trung and Cat Lai, and split the old An Phu ward between the first two. Leases and neighbours still say District 2, Thao Dien or An Phu, so a building or street name is all we need.
Our office is at 72 Nguyen Co Thach in Sala, in An Khanh ward. Bed bug and flea surveys are scheduled regularly in all three wards, 07:00 to 20:00 every day.
- An Khanh ward
- Thao Dien, Thu Thiem, An Loi Dong, the old An Khanh and part of An Phu: towers such as Masteri Thao Dien, Xi Riverview Palace, Masteri An Phu, Empire City, The Metropole Thu Thiem and the Sala blocks; Saroma, SariTown and Thao Dien's villas and gated compounds.
- Binh Trung ward
- Binh Trung Dong, Binh Trung Tay and the rest of An Phu, east of Mai Chi Tho and Song Hanh: Diamond Island, Estella Heights, the townhouses of Lakeview City and Palm City, and the SOHO row at The Global City.
- Cat Lai ward
- The old Thanh My Loi and Cat Lai wards beside the river, with Vista Verde, Feliz en Vista, townhouses and garden homes.
Furnished rentals and frequent flights: how bed bugs reach a home in Thao Dien or An Phu
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says bed bugs travel mainly in luggage, overnight bags, clothing and furniture, mostly carried unknowingly by travellers. That matters here: Tuoi Tre reported in 2020 that nearly 6,000 foreign residents of 102 nationalities lived in Thao Dien, and life in the neighbourhood involves business trips, long holidays and visits home.
Most homes let to international tenants in Thao Dien come fully furnished, so each change of tenant brings a new household and its suitcases to the same mattress; a serviced apartment or short-term rental sees more arrivals still. Look over any second-hand mattress or sofa before it comes indoors.
The CDC describes bed bugs as small, flat, wingless, reddish-brown insects about 1 to 7 mm long that feed on people as they sleep and can live for months without a meal. Bites may take up to two weeks to show, so the bed tells you more than your skin does. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) lists what to look for when you change the sheets:
- Rusty or reddish stains on sheets and mattresses, from bugs that were crushed.
- Dark dots the size of a full stop that bleed into fabric like marker ink: droppings.
- Shed skins and pale yellow eggs of about 1 mm.
- Live bugs in mattress seams, piping and labels, bed-frame and headboard cracks, sofa folds, drawer joints, sockets and behind pictures.

Fleas in a home with dogs or cats: three jobs done side by side
Many families in Thao Dien and An Phu live with young children and pets. Fleas ride on the dog or cat, yet most of their life cycle happens around the house: Texas A&M AgriLife Extension notes that the larvae feed on adult flea droppings and are usually found under furniture and in pet bedding. The CDC adds that fleas find a host by warmth, movement and breath, and bite people when no animal is available. Constant scratching and pepper-like specks in the fur or the pet's bed are the usual signs.
- The animal
- Examined and prescribed for by a vet. UpClean does not treat animals, and a dog product must never go on a cat.
- The home
- Our technicians treat the places where larvae hide, following the plan you approved.
- Rugs, sofas and pet beds
- Your Up specialist vacuums and cleans them. Texas A&M advises discarding the vacuum bag at least weekly, since fleas can keep developing inside it.
Riverside towers, villas, compounds and serviced apartments: what we prepare
Product work belongs to UpClean's technicians and follows the label and the regulations. What your Up specialist prepares depends on the home.
- Towers in Thu Thiem, Sala and Thao Dien
- Most buildings want outside staff registered with building management beforehand, papers shown in the lobby, the service lift used and set hours kept. We ask about the rules first. Textiles are bagged inside the room, and the front door stays shut during treatment.
- Villas in Thao Dien and Saroma
- Many bedrooms on several floors: the survey covers each bed, the guest room and wherever the pets sleep. Your housekeeper is told the date and which rooms to stay out of.
- Serviced apartments and short-term rentals
- Visits are fitted between guests when our technicians' schedule and the re-entry time, the period to stay out of a treated room, allow it. Reports go privately to the owner.
- Long lets
- An empty home between two leases is the easiest time to examine beds and sofas.
Treatment and cleaning: who does what
The EPA stresses that bed bug control combines several measures, chemical and non-chemical, and that the result depends on the extent of the problem, the clutter and the people living there. We therefore do not present mattress or sofa cleaning as a way to kill bed bugs; it is the supporting work that lets the treatment take effect.
- UpClean's technicians
- Confirm whether it is bed bugs or fleas and how far they have spread; treat beds, cracks and furniture with products permitted and validly registered in Vietnam; state when the room can be used again; return for the follow-up checks in the quote.
- Your Up specialist
- Seals sheets, clothes, curtains and soft toys in bags, covers surfaces and watches every treated point; runs a narrow nozzle along mattress seams, bed frames, sofa folds and rugs, then ties off the vacuum bag and takes it away; cleans mattresses, sofas, bedding and rugs at the point the plan sets, before treatment or after the re-entry time.
- You
- Wash and dry the bagged items as instructed (the EPA names a hot dryer as one way to kill bed bugs on fabric), take pets to the vet, and keep rooms tidy for the follow-up.
What a bed bug or flea quote in District 2 depends on
There is no listed price, and we would sooner not guess before seeing the home: a Thu Thiem studio with one bed is a different job from a Thao Dien villa with many bedrooms, several sofas and pets. After the free survey you receive one all-inclusive quote in writing, naming the rooms to be treated, the items to be cleaned, the follow-up checks and the warranty terms. It changes only if you agree in writing.
- Bedrooms, beds and how far the bed bugs or fleas have spread.
- How many mattresses, sofas, rugs and bedding sets need cleaning, and their size.
- How many treatment and follow-up visits the plan contains.
- Clutter, which adds to the bagging and vacuuming, and particular hours such as the gap between two guest stays.
- Warranty: follow-up and warranty terms for the treatment are in the quote; cleaning that falls short is redone free under our Warranty Policy when you reply to the Up Report.
International residents: English, building registration, access, payment
You can deal with us in English from the first photo to the final report. If you want an English speaker in the home, say so when booking; if we cannot arrange one we tell you beforehand and support you by phone or message.
- Registering the visit
- You receive your Up specialist's name and photo and our technicians' details ahead of the day, to pass to building management or the compound's gate office.
- If you are travelling
- Nobody has to be home. A key can stay with building management, reception or family; only the assigned specialist handles it, times are logged and it is never copied. The walk-through can be a video call.
- Payment
- By bank transfer or cash after the walk-through; any deposit for a larger job is stated in the quote. VAT invoices are issued on request.
While you wait, and how to book a survey
Some steps are safe to take straight away; a few habits are better stopped, because they spread bed bugs to other rooms:
- Do: photograph the signs, keep a captured insect under tape or in a sealed bag, wash bedding and dry it hot as the label allows, clear clutter from around the bed.
- Do not: move to another bedroom, carry an unwrapped mattress through the home, or spray unlabelled chemicals on beds and play areas. The EPA cautions that home heat treatment may not work.
- After a trip: unpack on a hard floor away from the bed, check the suitcase seams, launder your clothes at once.
- On treatment day, children and pets stay out of treated rooms for the time our written note states.
- To book, send photos of the stains, bites or insect to 0968 726 135 on WhatsApp or Zalo with your building or street name. The free survey comes first; the written plan and price follow.
- Changing or cancelling is free with over 24 hours' notice; inside 24 hours the fee is 30%.
