Where the former District 2 is now — and where we clean rugs

The former District 2, part of Thu Duc City from 2021 to 2025, has been reduced to three wards since Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15 took effect on 1 July 2025: An Khanh, Binh Trung and Cat Lai. The old An Phu ward was divided between An Khanh and Binh Trung, so some addresses around the Hanoi Highway and Luong Dinh Cua may fall on either side. Send us the address you are used to and we will match it ourselves.

From our office at 72 Nguyen Co Thach in Sala, our specialists cover all three wards regularly, from 07:00 to 20:00 every day, including evenings and weekends.

An Khanh ward
Thu Thiem, An Loi Dong, Thao Dien, the old An Khanh ward and part of An Phu. Rented villas and townhouses in Thao Dien; Masteri Thao Dien, Empire City, The Metropole Thu Thiem and the Sala urban area with Sarimi, Sarica and Sadora.
Binh Trung ward
Binh Trung Dong, Binh Trung Tay and the rest of An Phu. Townhouses and villas at The Global City, Lakeview City and Palm City to the east; Diamond Island and Estella Heights apartments to the west.
Cat Lai ward
The former Thanh My Loi and Cat Lai: high-rise apartments around Vista Verde and Feliz en Vista, and garden townhouses along the river branches.

Rugs that have travelled: why Thao Dien homes need extra care

According to Tuoi Tre in 2020, Thao Dien alone is home to nearly 6,000 foreign residents of 102 nationalities and some 40 international schools. Many families move with each posting and bring rugs that have already lived in several countries: a large machine-woven wool rug for the living room, a hand-knotted piece picked up on holiday, a natural-fibre runner on the veranda.

These rugs carry memories that are hard to replace, and they vary far more in material than the rugs in a typical apartment. One villa may have machine-woven wool under the dining table, a colourful hand-knotted rug in the living room and a shaggy pile in the children's room. Each needs a different solution, amount of water and drying method — applying one process to all of them is the biggest risk when cleaning rugs here.

Then there is the river. Thao Dien, Thu Thiem, Sala and Cat Lai all border the Saigon River or its branches, and many villas have a garden or pool right off the living room. In the May–November rainy season, humidity of around 80% means rugs on ground-floor stone dry slowly after every mop, and can develop smells and dark patches underneath. Look out for:

  • A damp smell or dried water marks along the edge of rugs near doors to the garden or pool.
  • Food, crayon or pet marks on playroom and nursery rugs.
  • Colour paler where the afternoon sun falls than where the sofa covers it.
  • Fringes on hand-knotted rugs turning yellow, tangled or gritty with garden soil.
  • A storage or packing-crate smell on a rug just unrolled after a move.

Moving in, moving out: when to have your rugs cleaned

For international families and long-term tenants in District 2, rug cleaning tends to follow the moving calendar rather than a fixed routine. Getting the timing right protects rugs through storage and shipping, and makes the rental handover clearer for everyone.

Before the packers arrive
Rugs should be cleaned and left to dry completely for at least a day before they are rolled. A rug rolled damp and left in a container for weeks is very likely to smell and spot with mould.
Right after you take a rental
Fitted carpet or loose rugs left by the landlord are best cleaned before the family moves in, especially with small children who play on the floor.
When you hand the keys back
Many leases require rugs to be returned clean. A before-and-after photo Up Report gives both landlord and tenant clear evidence.
Between tenancies
Owners of rental villas and apartments can have every rug cleaned in one visit, with a property manager authorised to let us in and sign off.

Wool, hand-knotted, synthetic and natural fibres: how each is treated

Every rug goes through the same first step: identifying the fibre, checking the weave and backing, and testing the solution on a hidden corner. That result decides everything that follows; if a rug bleeds colour in the test, we tell you and you decide whether to go ahead.

Wool — 60,000 VND per m²
Common in villa living and dining rooms. A gentle, wool-safe solution, controlled moisture extracted straight away, and no stiff brushes that would fluff up the fibres.
Hand-knotted — 90,000 VND per m²
Dyes and knots differ from rug to rug. Fringes are cleaned by hand; valuable pieces, or rugs that would need full immersion washing, are assessed first and we tell you honestly what is advisable before accepting the job.
Synthetic — 35,000 VND per m²
Typical in bedrooms, children's rooms, home offices and workplaces. Water-tolerant, so it is deep-vacuumed, spot-treated and then spray-extracted.
Jute, seagrass, sisal and shaggy pile
Natural fibres yellow easily when wet; long pile flattens and dries slowly. Send close-ups of the fibre and the back, and your specialist assesses the risk before confirming whether we can take it on.

What does rug cleaning cost in District 2? Worked examples

The price is area multiplied by the rate for each fibre, added up across every rug in the same visit; if the total is under 350,000 VND, the minimum applies. The examples below are calculated from our current price list, with sizes for illustration only; rug types and your fixed price are confirmed before booking.

  • No hidden extras: labour, equipment, fibre-specific solutions, protection for stone floors and furniture, hand-cleaned fringes and your Up Report are all included.
  • Any change to the scope or price applies only with your written approval.
  • Payment after sign-off; VAT invoices from Uptech Technology Solution Company Limited (tax code 0316973414) on request.

Offices, building rules and booking

An Phu, Thao Dien and Thu Thiem have many small offices in converted villas and townhouses, alongside office buildings and schools serving the international community. Carpet here is usually synthetic tiles at 35,000 VND per m²; reception areas may have wool or hand-knotted rugs, charged by their actual fibre. We confirm the area from photos or a survey, send a fixed quote and book weekends or after hours within 07:00–20:00, with the VAT invoice and Up Report sent to your office manager.

Many District 2 apartment buildings ask residents to register contractors in advance, check ID at the lobby and move equipment only by service lift during set hours; gated villa compounds usually register visitors with security. We ask about the rules where you live and follow them in full. Your specialist's name and photo are sent beforehand, and lobby or gate formalities after an on-time arrival don't count as lateness.

  • Send a few photos of each rug, its back and label (if any), with rough sizes, by WhatsApp or Zalo on +84 968 726 135 — or work it out yourself on our Quote page.
  • We send back a fixed quote, a time slot and your specialist's profile for you to confirm.
  • Your specialist records the condition, tests colour-fastness and cleans by fibre; a living-room rug usually takes about 45–90 minutes.
  • Rugs are usually dry in 4–8 hours depending on pile depth; furniture moved off them is photographed first and put back exactly where it was.
  • You or your property manager check each rug, then pay after sign-off by bank transfer or cash.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about carpet & rug cleaning in District 2

How much does rug cleaning cost in District 2?+

Hand-knotted rugs are 90,000 VND per m², wool 60,000 VND per m² and synthetic 35,000 VND per m², with a 350,000 VND minimum per visit. For example, a 3 × 4 m hand-knotted rug comes to 1,080,000 VND.

Do you cover Thao Dien, Thu Thiem and The Global City?+

Yes. Thao Dien and Thu Thiem are in An Khanh ward and The Global City is in Binh Trung ward — all part of our regular area, from 07:00 to 20:00 every day.

We are relocating overseas. How far ahead should we book?+

Book so that your rugs have at least one full day to dry before the movers pack. Rugs rolled while still damp can easily develop smells in transit.

Can you clean a hand-knotted rug I bought abroad at home?+

Yes, after testing colour-fastness and assessing the knots and fringes. For valuable pieces, or rugs that would need full immersion washing, your specialist explains the right approach before accepting the job.

Can jute or seagrass rugs be cleaned?+

Natural fibres yellow easily when wet, so we need to see photos first. Your specialist assesses the risk and takes the job only if the method suits the material.

Can a property manager or tenant sign off if the owner is away?+

Yes. Tell us who is authorised when you book; on request, the before-and-after Up Report can be sent to both parties.

Can our An Phu office book at the weekend?+

Yes. Office carpet tiles are 35,000 VND per m², and a weekend slot gives the carpet time to dry before the working week. VAT invoices are issued on request.

What if a rug is damaged?+

Let us know within 24 hours with photos. We check against the condition photos taken beforehand and take responsibility under our policy where our specialist is at fault.

How do I reschedule or cancel?+

Free with at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment carry a 30% fee.
