Which ward is The Ascent in now?
Saigon Giai Phong's finance paper gives the address as 58 Quoc Huong Street, Thao Dien ward, District 2. Clause 78, Article 1 of Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15 merged all of Thao Dien into the new An Khanh ward from 1 July 2025. Thao Dien was not split, so The Ascent is entirely in An Khanh ward, as is our Sala office.
The design, as reported at launch
A 2015 SGGP report says the project was developed by Tien Phat Real Estate Investment Co., with Hoa Binh Construction as design-and-build contractor: two offset 29-storey towers with 280 apartments, each open on three sides, with front doors that don't face each other and 3.1 m ceilings. It received IFC's EDGE certification for resource efficiency, with handover planned for Q4 2016.
VnExpress, covering the show-flat opening in late 2015, described glass panels over 3 m tall, three heated pools with jacuzzi, a gym, spa, yoga room, library and green walls on the podium. Another VnExpress piece reported imported French Mobalpa kitchens with water-resistant worktops, odour-resistant drawers and soft-close hinges.
Glass over 3 m and floor-length curtains — safely
High ceilings and near floor-to-ceiling glass give these homes their sense of space, but the top of the glass, upper frames and curtain tracks are beyond normal reach, and dust and water marks there slowly dim the light. We use sturdy stepladders, always with someone holding them, and clean only the inside of the glass and sections safely reachable from within the apartment or a railed balcony — never exterior high-rise glass, never beyond the railing.
We clean tracks and upper edges first, squeegee in one direction and dry frames and seals to avoid mineral marks. Sheers are washed gently; blackout curtains are thoroughly vacuumed before cleaning. When re-hanging, we check hooks and runners and tell you about anything broken.
Imported cabinetry and resource-conscious cleaning
Soft-close hinges, runner drawers and carefully finished doors last well if cleaned properly: well-wrung cloths, surface-appropriate products, no spraying into joints, and immediate drying. Range hood filters are removed and degreased (350,000 VND); built-in ovens (500,000 VND) and fridges can be added per appliance.
In the spirit of the project's EDGE certification, our approach also favours dry vacuuming first, damp-wiping rather than flooding floors, and only as much solution as needed — kinder to materials and less wasteful.
About ten years on: a seasonal plan
If handover followed the Q4 2016 plan, homes here are around ten years old. A simple rhythm: all aircon at the start of the hot season, with a free gas check; glass, curtains, door tracks and balcony seals after the rains; a yearly deep clean with range hood, fridge, mattresses and sofa; and Up Home weekly at 130,000 VND an hour (3-hour minimum) in between.

Bringing ladders in: working with management
When a job needs a tall ladder, moving it through the lobby and lifts has to be arranged. Many buildings ask contractors to register ahead, use a service or designated lift and work within set hours; these rules are the building's and may change, so we follow what you or management tell us. Specialists are identity-checked and trained to the Up Standard; you receive their name and photo beforehand, and waiting at reception after arriving on time isn't counted as lateness. Hours: 07:00–20:00 daily.
