The Up Standard

The Up Standard is our working standard: the process, checklists, principles for choosing materials and equipment, and how we train our specialists. Every service, every material and every type of space has its own guidance.

No one who has not met the Up Standard is ever sent to your home.

1. Preparation

We confirm the scope of work, your preferences and your building's access arrangements, and pack the right materials and equipment before we leave.

2. Arrival and recording your home as we found it

On time, shoe covers on, tools on a protective mat. We photograph where things are and note any existing marks or wear in the work area.

3. Working through the checklist

Top to bottom, inside out, with nearby surfaces protected. We keep the space calm and tidy throughout.

4. Self-check

Your specialist checks every item against the checklist, returns everything to its place and takes away all rubbish and dirty water.

5. Walk-through and Up Report

A three-minute walk-through with you, in person or by video call, followed by your Up Report as soon as we finish.

• Before we start: how appliances are running, any existing stains or damage, and any marks that may not fully come out — which we tell you about first.
• By room: living areas, bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, balconies and hallways.
• By material: wood, natural stone, glass, metal, fabric and leather — each treated in its own way.
• By appliance: air conditioners, washing machines, kitchen appliances and other specialist items.
• Finishing: everything back in place, surfaces dry and streak-free, tools and rubbish removed.
• Handover: a walk-through with you, technical notes and suggestions for future care.

• We only use products with clear provenance, full labelling and the manufacturer's safety guidance.
• Products are chosen for each surface, with gentle options first; specialist products are used only when genuinely needed.
• Always diluted correctly, never mixed, and spot-tested on a hidden area for delicate materials.
• We always take children, elderly family members and pets into account, keep rooms ventilated and tell you when surfaces will be dry.
• Products stay in our toolbox, out of reach of children and pets.
• The UpClean scent is used only with your approval; a fragrance-free option is always available.

• Professional equipment suited to each task, checked before every shift and serviced regularly.
• Cloths and tools are kept separate by area to avoid cross-contamination between kitchen, bathroom and living spaces.
• Tools are cleaned after every use — nothing travels from one home to the next.
• Your specialist brings everything needed and never uses your household items.

• Every specialist is trained in the Up Standard and assessed in practice before their first booking.
• Training covers technique for each service and material, workplace safety, and how to conduct themselves in a private home.
• Specialists receive refresher training whenever the Up Standard is updated or a new service is added.

The Up Standard never stands still. Every Up Report, every walk-through and every piece of your feedback is reviewed so our process keeps getting sharper, more precise and more considerate.
