District 2 is now An Khanh, Binh Trung and Cat Lai: where we clean appliances
District 2 survives as a habit of speech. On the administrative map, since 1 July 2025, the area is three wards under Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15: An Khanh, Binh Trung and Cat Lai. A ward is the local unit that replaced the city's districts. Title deeds and leases that carry the old address remain valid, and we accept either form.
Our office is inside An Khanh ward, at 72 Nguyen Co Thach in the Sala urban area. An Khanh and Binh Trung are served regularly, seven days a week, from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. For Cat Lai, please contact us first to confirm a time slot.
- An Khanh ward
- Sala, with Sarimi, Sarica, Sarina, Sadora and the Saroma villas; Thu Thiem, with Empire City and The Metropole; Thao Dien, with Masteri Thao Dien, Xi Riverview Palace and the riverside villa estates; and Masteri An Phu.
- Binh Trung ward
- The Global City, Diamond Island, Estella Heights, Lakeview City and Palm City.
- Cat Lai ward
- Vista Verde and Feliz en Vista; the time slot is confirmed before you book.
Riverside damp and building dust: which appliances to watch in a District 2 apartment
The city's rainy season runs from May to November, with relative humidity around 80%, according to the city government portal, and apartments beside the Saigon River in Thao Dien, Thu Thiem and Sala feel the damp most in long spells of rain. If you run a dehumidifier, empty and rinse its tank often and give the machine one thorough clean during the season.
Thu Thiem, Sala and The Global City still have buildings going up, and fine dust comes in through door gaps even in homes that have been lived in for years. When an air purifier asks for its filter to be cleaned sooner than usual, or a fan's guard and blades carry a layer of dust, the appliance needs taking apart and washing properly. Other signs:
- A musty smell from the dehumidifier's water tank.
- A greasy microwave or oven, or a burnt smell when food is heated.
- Weak hot water, white scale on the shower head or water with an odd smell.
Villas, penthouses and duplexes: high ceiling fans, built-in ovens, a heater in every bathroom
Riverside villas and compounds in Thao Dien and the Saroma villas are large homes on several floors, and penthouses and duplexes in Thu Thiem have tall glazing in the living room. They hold more appliances, in harder places, so your Up specialist, the UpClean staff member who does the work, looks at photos of each one before listing the job.
- Ceiling fans
- Blades and light covers are wiped in place; the fan stays on its hook. The ceiling must be at a height where an A-frame ladder stands securely, and a fan over a double-height space needs a photo survey first. 250,000 VND per fan.
- Built-in ovens
- Trays, racks and shelf supports are soaked and scrubbed separately; the cavity and door glass are cleaned with tools that do not scratch. Grease-absorbing panels and special enamel linings are treated as the maker's label says. 500,000 VND; a freestanding oven is 400,000 VND.
- Water heaters, bathroom by bathroom
- The casing and bracket are wiped, and sediment is flushed through the drain valve where the tank has one, with the power off and the water cooled. A heater above a false ceiling is accepted only with a way in and a safe place for the ladder; we look at photos first and may decline.
Fans, purifiers, dehumidifiers and microwaves: what is cleaned, and where we stop
One rule covers every appliance: only parts the maker intends to come off by hand are removed, and wiring, circuit boards and anything inside the casing are left alone. The starting condition is photographed and the appliance unplugged, or switched off at its own switch, before work begins.
- Standing, desk and tower fans
- Guard and blades come off and are washed separately; the body and vents are wiped with a well-wrung damp cloth and no water is sprayed on the motor. A tower fan's narrow vents are cleaned with a soft brush and a vacuum.
- Air purifiers
- The casing, intake, outlet and pre-filter are cleaned. HEPA and carbon filters are usually not washed; your specialist fits a new one only if you have the right filter for your model ready, as we do not supply filters.
- Dehumidifiers
- The water tank, filter and casing are cleaned. The refrigeration system inside is not opened.
- Microwaves
- Grease in the cavity is softened with warm steam and a product permitted for sale that suits the surface, then wiped away along with the turntable, its spindle and the door seal. The casing is never removed: there are high-voltage parts inside, even when unplugged.
- If a fault shows
- A leak, rust, damaged wiring or an earth-leakage breaker that trips abnormally: your specialist stops, takes photos and asks you to contact the maker's service centre or a qualified electrician.
What it costs in District 2: prices per appliance, and examples
Every appliance has an all-inclusive price: 120,000 VND for a standing, desk or tower fan, 250,000 VND for a ceiling fan, 300,000 VND for a dehumidifier, 350,000 VND for an air purifier, 350,000 VND for a microwave, 400,000 VND for a freestanding oven and 500,000 VND for a built-in oven. An appliance mounted high or in the ceiling adds 100,000 VND. A visit has a minimum of 500,000 VND, waived when you book it with aircon or washing machine cleaning.
Storage and instant water heaters, and anything not on the list, are quoted after a free photo survey, because where they are fitted and how safely they can be reached differ from home to home. The written quote names each appliance and task with the expected duration, and nothing is added without your written agreement.
- Two-bedroom apartment in Sala or Thu Thiem
- Two standing fans, one air purifier and one microwave: 940,000 VND.
- Penthouse or duplex
- Two ceiling fans, one dehumidifier and one built-in oven: 1,300,000 VND.
- Villa in Thao Dien
- Four ceiling fans, two standing fans, one dehumidifier and one built-in oven: 2,040,000 VND. Water heaters are quoted separately from photos.
- Rental between two tenancies
- One microwave and one standing fan: 500,000 VND (470,000 VND by the unit, so the minimum per visit applies).
- Booked with aircon cleaning in District 2
- A single air purifier: 350,000 VND, with no minimum; the aircon is charged on its own price list.
Furnished rentals in Thao Dien and An Phu, new homes in Thu Thiem and The Global City
Tuoi Tre reported in 2020 that nearly 6,000 foreign residents of 102 nationalities lived in Thao Dien, and many apartments and villas around Thao Dien and An Phu are let furnished. The fans, microwave, oven and water heater have therefore served several households. Between two tenancies, while the home is empty, is a convenient time to clean them all at once. Moving into a new home is another; where the interior has just been fitted out, book once that work is finished.

- Enquiries, quotes, booking confirmations and the Up Report can all be in English. Note it when you book if you want a specialist who speaks English at your home; if we cannot arrange one we tell you in advance and support you by phone or message.
- Building rules
- Most District 2 condominiums ask residents to register outside staff beforehand, check ID in the lobby and limit working hours; gated compounds have guards who direct parking and access. We send your specialist's name and photo for registration and ask about the rules before fixing a time.
- If you are away
- A key can be left with building management, reception or family. Only the assigned specialist handles it, the times are recorded and keys are never copied.
- If something is not right
- Reply to the Up Report within 48 hours and any item that falls short is redone free of charge. Report damage within 24 hours with photos; we check it against the starting photos and take responsibility under our policy where our specialist is at fault.
