Fridge and range hood cleaning in District 2 — Thao Dien, Thu Thiem, Sala

Ho Chi Minh City stopped using districts on 1 July 2025. Under Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15 the former District 2 became three wards, the city's local administrative units: An Khanh, Binh Trung and Cat Lai, with the old An Phu ward divided between the first two. Papers issued before the change stay valid, so give us your address in either form.

We work from 72 Nguyen Co Thach, in the Sala urban area. Up specialists, the UpClean staff who carry out the work, are in An Khanh and Binh Trung every day from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM; homes in Cat Lai are booked once a time slot is agreed.

An Khanh ward: every day

Sarimi, Sarica, Sarina and Sadora in Sala; Empire City and The Metropole in Thu Thiem; Masteri Thao Dien, Xi Riverview Palace and Masteri An Phu; the Saroma and SariTown villas and the villa compounds of Thao Dien.

Binh Trung ward: every day

The Global City and its SOHO townhouses, Diamond Island, Estella Heights, Palm City and Lakeview City.

Cat Lai ward: by arrangement

One- to three-bedroom high-rise apartments are the usual home in An Khanh and Binh Trung, and penthouses, duplexes and large corner units often have a kitchen open to the living room. Doors stay shut and the aircon runs for hours, in a city where relative humidity averages about 79.5% over the year, according to the city government portal. The range hood is then almost the only way out for cooking fumes.

Grease carried up from the hob settles on the hood's filter; a thick coat weakens the draw, and food smells drift into the living room and bedrooms. In a fridge, a smell that stays once the old food has gone usually comes from residue in the slots that hold the shelves, the folds of the door seal or the drain channel. A weekly wipe is no longer enough when you notice:

• An unpleasant smell as soon as the door opens, with no old food left inside.
• Water collecting under the crisper drawers, or dark spots in the folds of the door seal.
• A hood filter that feels sticky, and a greasy film on the cabinet tops above the hob.

Riverside villas and gated compounds in Thao Dien, the Saroma villas in Sala and the SOHO townhouses at The Global City are large homes on several floors, and the villas often have natural stone floors. A kitchen there may hold a side-by-side or four-door fridge, a second fridge and a hood, all done in one appointment, each at its own price.

Side-by-side and four-door fridges

More compartments, drawers and door racks, so each compartment is washed and dried in turn. 500,000 VND per unit.

Second fridges and mini fridges

A top- or bottom-freezer fridge, or a mini fridge in a bedroom, counts as a one- or two-door fridge: 350,000 VND per unit.

Stone floors, and moving the fridge

The floor and worktop are covered before anything is taken apart. A fridge is moved only where there is room and no risk to the floor or cabinets; behind a heavy side-by-side, or one set tight into its housing, we clean as far as can be reached and tell you so beforehand.

Island hoods, built-in hoods, built-in and wine fridges

The listed hood price is for a wall-mounted chimney or angled-glass hood with removable grease filters. For anything built in or over an island, send photos first; your specialist judges the access, then confirms the scope and a fixed price in writing.

Gated compounds

Give the gate the name and photo we send in advance; your specialist follows the guards' directions on parking and the way in.

Tuoi Tre reported in 2020 that Thao Dien had nearly 6,000 foreign residents of 102 nationalities. Many apartments and villas around Thao Dien and An Phu are let fully furnished, so the fridge and the hood pass from one tenant to the next, and a new arrival cannot tell when either was last cleaned properly.

• Landlords: book between the outgoing tenant's departure and the next arrival, while the fridge is empty, and file the Up Report with the handover record.
• New tenants: clean before loading food into a fridge you inherited. A torn seal, a door that does not close properly or weak cooling is noted in the Up Report for you to raise with the landlord.

Prices are per appliance and go by the type of fridge, not its capacity, so you can check them standing in your own kitchen: 350,000 VND for a one- or two-door fridge, 500,000 VND for a side-by-side or four-door fridge, 350,000 VND for a range hood. Each price is all-inclusive, from protecting the kitchen to the Up Report.

We confirm the price in writing before you book; if the fridge turns out to be a different type from the one described, any change needs your written agreement. These examples are added straight from the price list:

• A deep clean of the home does not include the inside of the fridge. The two can share one appointment, each on its own price list.

One- or two-bedroom apartment in Sala or Thao Dien

One two-door fridge and one range hood: 700,000 VND.

Three-bedroom apartment in Thu Thiem

One side-by-side fridge and one range hood: 850,000 VND.

Penthouse or duplex with an open kitchen

One four-door fridge, one mini fridge in the study and one wall-mounted hood: 1,200,000 VND.

Villa in Thao Dien or Saroma

One side-by-side fridge and a second two-door fridge: 850,000 VND. An island hood is quoted separately from photos.

The fridge has to be empty while it is cleaned. Have a cool box or insulated bags and a few ice packs ready; if you wish, your specialist moves the food out and puts it back afterwards, following your directions. If the freezer is thick with ice, say so when you book and we will advise on defrosting.

Your specialist photographs both appliances before a shelf or filter comes out. Shelves are washed separately, the interior and seals cleaned layer by layer, and the hood's metal filters degreased and dried. Everything is refitted and checked with you.

Repairs and refrigerant

We clean and nothing more: no repairs, no refrigerant check or top-up, no replacement parts or seals.

Inside the hood

Motors and circuit boards are not dismantled, and ducting inside walls or ceilings is outside the service. On a recirculating hood the carbon filter is a part to replace as the maker recommends; we do not supply parts, and note it in the Up Report if it looks due.

How long, and how often

The time depends on the type of fridge, the number of appliances and their condition; your specialist confirms it when you book. For a fridge in daily use we suggest a thorough clean about every 3–6 months.

Enquiries, quotes, booking confirmations and the Up Report can all be in English. If you would like a specialist who speaks English in your home, note it when you book; if we cannot arrange that, we tell you beforehand and help by phone or message.

Building management

Many District 2 buildings ask residents to register outside staff in advance, check ID in the lobby and set working hours. We send your specialist's name, photo and contact number so that you can register them.

If you are out

Leave a key with building management, reception or family: only the assigned specialist handles it, the times are recorded and keys are never copied. Tell us what to do with any food in the fridge; the walk-through, the final check of the work, can be done by video call.

Payment and invoices
