Fridge and range hood cleaning in Thao Dien — villa kitchens, twin kitchens, open-plan apartments

Thao Dien lies along the Saigon River and used to be a ward of District 2. On 1 July 2025 Ho Chi Minh City stopped using districts, and Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15 placed the whole of Thao Dien, with Thu Thiem, An Loi Dong, the old An Khanh and the remainder of An Phu, in a new An Khanh ward, a ward being the local unit the city now uses in place of districts. Many leases still read Thao Dien ward, District 2; write your address the way your own papers show it.

Beside the metro line

Masteri Thao Dien on Vo Nguyen Giap, the road once called the Hanoi Highway: five blocks, T1 to T5, next to a shopping centre and a station on Metro Line 1.

Riverside villas and compound houses in Thao Dien are big, spread over several floors and finished in natural stone and timber. The kitchen may have a side-by-side or four-door fridge, a second fridge and a hood. We list the job appliance by appliance and do it all in one appointment.

Life here tends to follow a full travel diary, long holidays and entertaining at home, so a fridge is packed for a dinner one week and shut for weeks the next. Dried spills and smells held in the door seal are easy to miss either way.

Stone floors and worktops

Both are covered before anything is taken apart. Shelves are laid on a separate mat, never straight onto the stone.

Moving the fridge

Only where there is space around it and no risk to the floor or the cabinets. Behind a heavy fridge, or one fitted tightly into its housing, we clean what can be reached and tell you beforehand.

The Nassim

Introduced by VIR in 2015 with separate dry and wet kitchens and marble floors. The wet kitchen is cooked in daily, so its hood gathers grease quickly; the dry kitchen often holds a large fridge and a wine fridge.

The Ascent

VnExpress reported Mobalpa kitchen units imported from France, with soft-close hinges. If handover went ahead in late 2016 as planned, the kitchens have had about ten years of use. Around these units we work with well-wrung cloths and spray no water into door gaps or hinges.

Masteri Thao Dien

Moderately sized apartments with a kitchen open to the living room, where a weak hood lets cooking smells reach the seating area at once. A good share are rented out.

Thao Dien Pearl

Many apartments and duplexes have been lived in for over a decade, and grease tends to sit in a layer on the filter and around the hood. Stains that have soaked in deeply may only fade, and you are told so before work starts.

Lumiere Riverside

Handed over at the end of 2023, with built-in kitchen appliances and surfaces that are still new. Built-in fridges and hoods are assessed from photos, and products are chosen so that the finish is not dulled.

Tuoi Tre newspaper reported in 2020 that nearly 6,000 foreign residents of 102 nationalities lived in Thao Dien. Most homes let to them come furnished, so the fridge and the hood stay with the property through one household after another. Three moments suit the job:

• Between two tenancies, while the fridge is empty. The Up Report gives landlord, tenant and agent the same photos of the interior, the shelves and the filters.
• Before a long summer trip home: have the fridge emptied, cleaned and deodorised so the kitchen does not hold smells while the house is shut.
• On moving in, before your food goes into a fridge that came with the home. A torn seal, a door that does not close fully or weak cooling is written in the Up Report, which gives you something to show the landlord.

The fridge must be empty while it is cleaned. Have a cool box or insulated bags ready; if you wish, your specialist packs the food and puts it back as you direct. Mention a freezer thick with ice when you book.

Your specialist photographs the appliances, covers the floor and worktop, then takes out the shelves, crisper drawers and door racks and washes and dries them. The fridge and freezer compartments, each fold of the door seal and the drain channel, where the fridge has one, are cleaned, and the interior is deodorised. On the hood, the metal grease filters are soaked, degreased, rinsed and dried, and the casing, glass, controls, lamp and reachable inner surfaces are wiped.

Cleaning only

No repairs, no refrigerant check or top-up, no new parts or seals. A hood's motor and circuit board stay in place, and ducting inside walls or ceilings is not treated.

What you can do yourself between visits.

Prices go by appliance and by type of fridge: 350,000 VND for one or two doors, 500,000 VND for a side-by-side or four-door fridge, and 350,000 VND for a wall-mounted chimney or angled-glass hood with removable filters. A single appliance is charged at its own price, and several are added together. Your figure is sent in writing before the booking is fixed and changes only with your written agreement.

Villa in a compound

One side-by-side fridge and a second two-door fridge: 850,000 VND. An island hood is priced once we have seen photos.

Language

You can enquire, receive the quote and the booking confirmation, and read the Up Report in English. For a specialist who speaks English in your home, add a note when you book; if we cannot arrange one we tell you beforehand and support the visit by phone or message.

Reception desks and compound gates

Many buildings ask residents to register outside staff with building management in advance, and compounds have guards at the gate. We send your specialist's name, photo and contact number before every visit so that you can do this.

If you are away

A key can be left with building management, reception or family; only the assigned specialist handles it and it is never copied. The walk-through, our check of the finished work with you, can be done by video call.

Payment

After the walk-through, by bank transfer or cash. Landlord or tenant may pay, and an invoice is issued on request under Vietnamese regulations by Uptech Technology Solution Company Limited (tax code 0316973414).
