District 7's four wards, and the two ways surveys are scheduled
The old District 7 now goes by the names of four wards, the unit that replaced districts on 1 July 2025 under Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15: Tan My, Tan Hung, Tan Thuan and Phu Thuan. Phu My Hung, a 433-hectare urban area, belongs to Tan My and Tan Hung. Tell us the estate, the project or the house number; an old ward name on your papers is no obstacle.
Rodent surveys in Tan My and Tan Hung are arranged regularly, between 07:00 and 20:00 daily. In Tan Thuan and Phu Thuan we agree a time slot with you first and then fix the day.
- Tan My ward
- Once Tan Phu and the remainder of Phu My: Phu My Hung's villa and garden-townhouse areas, Crescent Lake, Crescent Mall, SECC, Midtown and Riviera Point.
- Tan Hung ward
- Once Tan Phong, Tan Quy, Tan Kieng and Tan Hung: Sunrise City along Nguyen Huu Tho, Him Lam beside Kenh Te canal, and the area round RMIT University and SC VivoCity.
- Tan Thuan and Phu Thuan wards
- Eco Green Saigon and the rows of townhouses on Huynh Tan Phat and Nguyen Van Linh; Q7 Saigon Riverside and the riverside residential areas. Contact us first for a slot.
Low ground, canals and trees: three ways into a District 7 home
According to Nguoi Do Thi magazine (2023), the south of the city was marshland thirty-odd years ago and is still low land affected by high tides. Phu My Hung keeps building density under 30%, with about 8.9 m² of greenery per resident; trees and planters surround the houses, and beyond them lie Crescent Lake, Kenh Te canal and smaller creeks. Water and trees are also the first two of the routes below.
- From below: the sewer rat
- Big, heavy, a good burrower and swimmer. It follows sewers, drain pits and drainage channels into the yard, the laundry area and the ground-floor bathroom, and is common in townhouses and villas near canals.
- From above: the roof rat
- Slim, long-tailed and a fine climber. One branch touching the roof, one cable or one vertical drainpipe is enough to bring it to a metal roof, a plasterboard ceiling or a roof terrace.
- With deliveries: the house mouse
- Small enough to pass a very narrow gap. It nests in kitchen cabinets, under appliances and in service ducts, and reaches even high-rise apartments with goods or through the service shafts.
Villas in My Kim and Nam Vien, townhouses by the canal, towers: where the survey looks
Your Up specialist works from the foot of the walls and the drains up to the roof, the ceiling and the service ducts, listing the gaps. The emphasis changes with the home:
- Villas with gardens
- In My Kim, My Thai and Nam Vien the outside is part of the survey: drain pits and drain openings in the grounds, branches close to the roof or a balcony, the roof edge, the garage door, vents without mesh, the storeroom and the service ducts.
- Townhouses by the canal or on a main street
- In Him Lam beside Kenh Te, or the rows along Huynh Tan Phat: ground-floor drain grates, the gap under the roller shutter, the back kitchen door, the gaps round pipes passing through walls, the space under the stairs.
- High-rise apartments
- At Sunrise City, Midtown and Riviera Point: kitchen cabinets, the space under appliances, service-duct doors, the gap round the aircon pipes. Holes in corridors and shared shafts are put on a separate list for building management.
The four parts of a plan, and why loose bait falls short
Poison pellets, loose bait and repeller devices are easy to buy, and each has limits. Bait scattered freely can leave a rodent to die inside a wall or ceiling, with a smell that is hard to trace, and it is a risk to small children and pets. A repeller seals nothing: while a way in stays open and there is food indoors, rodents have reason to come back. Our plan has four parts, and the result rarely lasts if one is missing.
- 1. Species and routes
- The traces show whether rodents are coming up from the drains, down from the roof or in with goods, and the plan starts there.
- 2. Traps and lockable bait stations
- Set by UpClean's technicians. Indoors, mechanical traps usually come first, so the animal is caught on the spot. Bait stations are closed, locking boxes placed along boundary walls, round the house and in service areas, beyond the reach of children and pets and marked on the map in your Up Report.
- 3. Sealing
- Our specialists fit mesh and covers and fill gaps round pipes as planned. Cutting, masonry or anything structural is written down for you to give to a contractor.
- 4. Cleaning and deodorising
- Where rodents sheltered is cleaned and deodorised, removing the scent trails that lead others in.
- Monitoring
- Traps and stations are checked on schedule and moved or added to as fresh traces dictate, until no sign of activity is left.
Rats above a plasterboard ceiling or metal roof
Before the survey your part is small: write down which rooms the noise is in and roughly when, and put no bait up there yourself. The culprit is usually the roof rat, at times a house mouse that has climbed the aircon pipes or cables. Up there they can gnaw cable insulation, tear insulation sheets and leave droppings and urine that smell for a long while.
Through the ceiling access hatch our technicians read the traces and find the way up: a branch on the roof, a gap at the eaves, a pipe hole. Mechanical traps are the usual choice for a ceiling void, since fewer animals then die out of sight. Your Up specialist proposes sealing whatever can be reached and notes what needs a builder or building management.
Shops, restaurants and ground-floor offices in Phu My Hung
Homes in Phu My Hung stand next to offices, schools and shopping centres, and many ground floors on Nguyen Luong Bang, Ton Dat Tien and Nguyen Van Linh are showrooms, shops and offices. We take shophouses, restaurants and offices in our service area; factories and warehouses are accepted after a separate survey.
- Trap checks are set for the quiet part of the day, between 07:00 and 20:00.
- Stockrooms, the kitchen, the back door and the gap under the roller shutter get close attention.
- Where the family lives above the shop, both parts share one plan and one map of traps and stations.
- An Up Report after each check records every position and what was found, for the premises file.
What goes into a rodent-control quote in District 7
Rodent control has no listed rate. After the free survey we send a written all-inclusive quote listing the points to seal, the traps and bait stations, the return checks, the cleaning and deodorising and the warranty terms. Nothing changes without your written approval.
- The home: the area of the grounds and the number of floors; garden or basement; metal roof or plasterboard ceiling.
- The gaps: how many, of what kind, and which need a separate contractor.
- Activity: how busy the rodents are and how many return checks are needed.
- Clean-up: the amount of cleaning and deodorising in the kitchen, stores and ceiling.
- Warranty: its terms and the number of trap and station checks depend on the plan and are written into the quote.
Clean-up, access to your building, and booking
Droppings should never be swept or vacuumed dry, because that can put dirt into the air. Your Up specialist follows guidance from the CDC, the US public-health agency: gloves on, the area wetted with disinfectant solution, left to soak, then wiped with disposable cloths. A smell that will not go usually means a carcass or nest was left; where reachable it is removed and the odour treated at source, and a closed ceiling or wall is opened only if you agree.
- Towers in District 7 commonly want service companies registered in advance, papers shown and the service lift used, and many villa and townhouse estates log entries at the gate. We send your Up specialist's name and photo beforehand.
- With small children, dogs or cats at home, tell us first: indoors traps are usually preferred, and bait stays in locked stations, which you should never open or move.
- To book, phone or message 0968 726 135 on WhatsApp or Zalo with photos of the traces. Leave droppings and gnaw marks as they are until the survey, and keep the storeroom and ceiling hatch accessible.
- A specialist more than 15 minutes late means 10% off that invoice. Changing or cancelling is free until 24 hours before; after that the fee is 30%.
