Rodent control: your questions
Who places the traps and bait?+
A licensed pest-control partner. UpClean surveys with them, supervises, cleans and deodorises, and reports. You may ask to see the partner's licence before the visit.
Is it safe with children and pets?+
Please tell us in advance. Indoors, traps are usually preferred; bait is kept in lockable stations out of reach and shown on a map.
Will sealing gaps damage my home?+
Routine sealing such as mesh, covers and filling gaps around pipes is done neatly by our own specialists and listed in the quote. Anything needing structural work is noted for you to decide on.
Why are there rodents in a high-rise apartment?+
Mice can arrive with deliveries or move through service shafts. We note gaps in common areas so you can raise them with building management.
There is a dead-rodent smell. What can you do?+
We locate the source, remove and clean where reachable and treat the odour. Ceiling panels are opened only with your consent; soft furnishings can be treated through our disinfection and odour-removal service.
How should droppings be cleaned?+
Never sweep or vacuum them dry. Following CDC guidance, wear gloves, wet the area with disinfectant, let it soak, then wipe up with paper towels and bag them. We can do this for larger areas.
