Which wards replaced District 7, and where we take mosquito surveys
Since 1 July 2025 the city has had wards instead of districts, and Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15 reorganised the former District 7 into four of them. Give us the old ward name, the project name or the house number; we match it to the current address.
Phu My Hung, a 433-hectare urban area, lies across Tan My and Tan Hung wards. We take mosquito surveys there between 07:00 and 20:00, seven days a week; for Tan Thuan and Phu Thuan the time slot is confirmed before the booking is fixed.
- Tan My ward
- The old Tan Phu ward and the rest of Phu My: Phu My Hung's villa and garden-townhouse neighbourhoods, the area around Crescent Lake, Crescent Mall and SECC, and the Midtown and Riviera Point (584 Huynh Tan Phat) apartments.
- Tan Hung ward
- The old Tan Phong, Tan Quy, Tan Kieng and Tan Hung wards: Sunrise City on Nguyen Huu Tho, the Him Lam area beside Kenh Te canal, and the streets around SC VivoCity and RMIT University.
- Tan Thuan ward
- The old Binh Thuan, Tan Thuan Dong and Tan Thuan Tay wards, with Eco Green Saigon and the townhouse rows along Huynh Tan Phat and Nguyen Van Linh. Please contact us first.
- Phu Thuan ward
- The old Phu Thuan ward and part of Phu My, with Q7 Saigon Riverside (4 Dao Tri) and the riverside residential areas. Please contact us first.
Why Phu My Hung gardens and homes by Kenh Te canal draw mosquitoes
District 7 sits on low riverside land. Nguoi Do Thi magazine (2023) records that more than three decades ago the south of the city was marshland, and the area is still affected by high tides. The same article describes Phu My Hung as planned with a building density below 30% and about 8.9 m² of greenery per resident, so most homes have trees, flowerbeds and pergolas around them, with Crescent Lake, Kenh Te canal and small creeks close by.
That greenery is where adult mosquitoes rest by day: under foliage, in low shrubs and shady terrace corners. They lay their eggs in water left standing after rain, and the rainy season, according to the Ho Chi Minh City government portal, runs from May to November. Mosquitoes also fly in from outside, so near a river or canal one treatment reduces them only for a time.
Villas, townhouses, low-floor apartments: how each home is surveyed
Our technicians choose a method only after seeing the grounds and learning whether the household includes young children, pets or a fish pond. Products are on the list permitted in Vietnam, hold a valid registration number and are used as the label directs; the plan sent beforehand names the product, the areas to be sprayed and the re-entry time, meaning how long to stay out of a treated area.
- Garden villas
- In neighbourhoods such as My Kim, My Thai and Nam Vien, the technicians mark out where mosquitoes rest: low shrubs, the underside of foliage, shaded terrace corners, the space under outdoor stairs. Your Up specialist walks round with you to empty plant saucers, unused pots and tarpaulins.
- Townhouses and shophouses
- The roof terrace, rear balcony and back yard are checked, with their gullies, gutters and the saucer under every pot. A high roof or upper-floor gutter without safe access is noted for a separate survey.
- Low-floor apartments
- The check starts with standing water on the balcony and the insect screens on windows and balcony doors.
- Homes with a fish pond
- Tell us before the survey. The technicians mark a pond with fish as an area to avoid and do not treat the water directly; for ornamental ponds and gullies the approach is chosen place by place.
How the cost of mosquito control in District 7 is worked out
No unit price is published for mosquito control: the balcony of a low-floor apartment with a few pots and a villa with a large garden and an ornamental pond are not comparable jobs. After the free survey you receive an all-inclusive quote in writing, stating the method, the area to be sprayed, the repeat schedule and the re-entry time. That price changes only with your written agreement. It depends on:
- The size of the garden, and the floors, terraces and roof terraces to be treated.
- How dense the planting is; the number of ornamental ponds, gullies and water features.
- The method and the number of repeat treatments in the rainy season.
- How much your Up specialist has to clear, cover and wipe down.
- Any warranty terms, written into the quote; we do not set one period for every home.
Children, pets, koi and garden vegetables: what to prepare
- At the survey, tell us whether anyone in the house is elderly, very young or has a respiratory condition; whether you keep dogs, cats, pet birds or koi; and whether there is a beehive in the garden.
- During spraying, close the windows and doors facing the garden; bring in laundry, toys and pets' food bowls.
- Fish ponds, water-plant bowls and the household water tank need a lid or a cover; our technicians show you how.
- Do not pick garden vegetables or fruit for the interval the technicians give after spraying.
- Tell your gardener and housekeeper the spray date and how long to keep out of the area.
- The family and pets return to the garden only when the re-entry time written in the plan has passed.
International families in Phu My Hung: English, registration, access, payment
Enquiries, quotes, booking confirmations and the Up Report can all be in English. For an English speaker at the house, add a note when you book; if we cannot arrange one, we say so in advance and support you by phone or message.
- Registering the visit
- Many apartment buildings and managed estates in District 7 ask for registration before a service company comes in, and many villa and townhouse neighbourhoods have guards who log every entry. Rules differ, so we ask you first, then send your Up specialist's name and photo and our technicians' details for you to register.
- If you are away
- You need not be at home. Leave a key with building management, reception or family: only the assigned specialist handles it, the times are recorded and keys are never copied. For a smart lock we recommend a temporary code; the walk-through can be done by video call.
- Payment
- After the walk-through, by bank transfer or cash. Larger jobs may need a deposit, stated in the quote. VAT invoices are issued on request by Uptech Technology Solution Company Limited, for individuals and companies.
Dengue, and the weekly routine between treatments
Dengue, according to Vietnam's Ministry of Health and the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, is spread by the striped Aedes mosquito, which lays its eggs in fairly clean water standing in containers around the home and bites by day, most of all in the early morning and late afternoon. In a garden full of pot plants and water features, its breeding sites may be inside your own boundary.
The health sector's message is 'no larvae, no dengue': the key measure is removing the places where mosquitoes breed. Spraying reduces adult mosquitoes for a time and does not replace the health authorities' disease-control measures; anyone with a high fever should be taken to a medical facility, not treated at home. Between treatments, at the interval our technicians propose in the quote, this weekly routine matters as much as the spraying:
- After every downpour, empty plant saucers and turn over empty pots and buckets in the yard.
- Change the water in vases and water-plant bowls; check the aircon drip tray and the tray under the fridge.
- Keep gutters and drains clear, water containers covered, and the insect screens on windows and balcony doors intact.
- Sleep under a net, daytime naps included, and co-operate when the local authorities spray at an outbreak site.
How to book a mosquito survey in District 7
- Call or message 0968 726 135 on WhatsApp or Zalo: say when the mosquitoes are worst and send photos of the garden and any pond, with your project name or address, old style or new.
- The free survey is arranged between 07:00 and 20:00; the plan and all-inclusive price then come in writing, and you need not decide straight away.
- On the day your Up specialist clears standing water and puts covers on, stays while UpClean's technicians spray, then wipes the outdoor furniture and play area once the re-entry time is over. In rain or strong wind the visit is usually postponed.
- Your Up Report lists the areas treated, the standing-water points removed and what to watch. If your specialist arrives more than 15 minutes late, that visit's invoice is reduced by 10%.
- Changing or cancelling is free with at least 24 hours' notice; after that the cancellation fee is 30%.
