Where Phu My Hung is, and which ward it belongs to now
This page covers the Phu My Hung urban area: 433 hectares in the former District 7, around Nguyen Van Linh boulevard, Nguyen Luong Bang and Ton Dat Tien streets and Crescent Lake. Districts ceased to exist on 1 July 2025 under Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15, and the city now works with wards, its local administrative units. The urban area, once in Tan Phu and Tan Phong wards, lies in Tan My and Tan Hung.
We take mosquito surveys in both wards on any day of the week, from 07:00 to 20:00. An address written with the old ward, the project name or just the house number will do.
- Garden villas and townhouses
- My Kim, My Thai, Nam Vien and the rows around Crescent Lake.
- Apartments
- Midtown, Scenic Valley, Riverpark Premier and Hung Phuc Premier in Tan My; Happy Valley, Sky Garden and Sunrise City in Tan Hung.
- Shophouses
- Along Nguyen Van Linh, Nguyen Luong Bang and Ton Dat Tien.
Low density, low ground: where Phu My Hung's mosquitoes rest and breed
Nguoi Do Thi magazine (2023) records that Phu My Hung keeps its building density under 30% and counts roughly 8.9 m² of greenery for each resident. The same article notes that the city's south was marshland over three decades ago and is still low and tidal, while the urban area itself rarely floods thanks to its planning, tide gates included.
Greenery and water play different parts. The undersides of leaves, low shrubs and shaded porch corners are where adult mosquitoes rest by day. They breed in water standing inside each property: plant saucers, unused pots, gutters, water features, through a rainy season that runs from May to November. Others fly in from outside, so one spraying lowers numbers only for a period; lasting results come from spraying combined with regular removal of standing water.
We survey and treat only within your own property. Standing water in shared areas is a matter for building management.
Garden villas and townhouses: the standing-water round
Before any spraying, your Up specialist walks the property with you. Whatever can be reached safely is dealt with on the spot; anything you need to keep watching goes into the Up Report.
- Front yard, planters, pergola
- Plant saucers, empty pots, tree hollows, leaf sheaths that hold water, tarpaulins and outdoor toys; tree canopy and a pergola near the house are resting places.
- Back yard and rear balcony
- Drain pits, blocked channels, and buckets or garden tools left out.
- Water features
- Ponds with little flow, fountains long switched off, decorative jars, bowls of aquatic plants. A pond with fish is noted so the technicians keep clear of it.
- Roof and roof terrace
- Gutters blocked with leaves, puddles, a water tank with a loose lid. A high roof or an upper gutter with no walkway or guard rail is recorded for a separate survey.
- Empty or between tenants
- A pool that is not running, its cover, and things forgotten in the yard are checked first.
- Shop on the ground floor
- Spraying is set before opening time or on a closing day; the re-entry time in the plan tells you when to reopen.
Apartments: balconies, loggias and planters
Many developments here stand among greenery and water. According to the developer, Happy Valley keeps over 77% of its site as open space, beside Saigon Wonderland park; Scenic Valley has flower gardens and indoor and outdoor pools; Riverpark Premier has a pool of about 500 m².
In any apartment, most mosquitoes fly in from the balcony or loggia, or hatch from standing water indoors that nobody notices. Check the points below before thinking of spraying. If the home is dry and mosquitoes are still numerous, we survey and handle the paperwork your building management requires.
- Loggia and planters: sweep leaves, keep the channel and floor drain clear, look under every pot.
- The aircon drip tray, the tray under the fridge, and any gap around aircon pipes through the wall.
- Screens at windows and the balcony door: whole, or torn?
- Vases, bowls of aquatic plants, buckets in bathrooms; dark corners behind curtains, under beds and in wardrobes, where mosquitoes rest by day.
- Insect lamps, electric rackets and bed nets help in a bedroom but do not replace removing breeding places.
Method, products, and why spraying is not dengue prevention
The method is settled last, once our technicians have walked the grounds, gauged the mosquito activity and heard about any small children, pets or fish pond. Every product is on Vietnam's permitted list with a valid registration number and is used at the label dose; the product, the spray area and the re-entry time are in the plan sent ahead of the visit.
Dengue, the Ministry of Health and Ho Chi Minh City's Pasteur Institute explain, is passed on by the striped Aedes mosquito. It breeds in fairly clean water that collects in containers close to the house and bites in daytime, so removing those breeding places is the key measure. Spraying lowers adult numbers for a time and does not replace the health authorities' work; a high fever needs a medical facility, not home treatment.
- Space spraying
- A fine mist that brings adult numbers down fast but does not last, so it is typically used before an outdoor party or when numbers are very high.
- Treating resting places
- Low shrubs, the undersides of leaves, shaded porch corners, under outdoor stairs. Longer-lasting; marked out to avoid play areas and vegetables.
- Guide: mosquitoes at home in the rainy season
- What reduces them, and when spraying makes sense.
- All of District 7
- Tan Thuan, Phu Thuan and the Kenh Te canal side.
How the cost of mosquito control in Phu My Hung is set
No rate is published. A low-floor loggia and a villa garden with an ornamental pond take very different amounts of work, so the fee is known only after the survey, which is free. The all-inclusive quote, a written document, sets out how and where we spray, the re-entry time and the repeat schedule; its price is fixed and changes only if you agree in writing.
- How large the garden is, and how many floors, porches and roof terraces are treated.
- Dense or sparse planting; the number of ponds, drain pits and water features.
- The method, and the repeat visits needed in the rainy season.
- Standing-water clearance, covering and wiping down by your Up specialist.
- Warranty terms, if any, set out in the quote together with the repeat schedule.
Preparing the household, and booking as an international family
Phu My Hung has many international residents; the developer lists Japanese, Korean and Taipei schools near Nam Vien. We deal with enquiries, quotes, booking confirmations and the Up Report in English. Tell us when you book if you want an English speaker at the house; where none is available we warn you beforehand and help by phone or message. At home:
- At the survey, mention young children, elderly relatives, anyone with a respiratory condition, your dogs, cats, caged birds or koi, and any beehive in the garden.
- While spraying is under way, keep windows and doors on the garden side shut; take in washing, toys and pet bowls.
- Fish ponds, aquatic-plant bowls and the household water tank are lidded or covered the way the technicians show you.
- Leave garden vegetables and fruit unpicked for the period you are told after spraying.
- When the re-entry time has passed, your Up specialist tells you and wipes the outdoor furniture and play area; only then do family and pets go back out.
- To book, phone or message 0968 726 135 (WhatsApp, Zalo) and attach garden photos. Towers and guarded streets often want visitors registered first, so you get your Up specialist's name and photo beforehand. Payment follows the walk-through, our check of the finished work with you.
