Wasp and bee nest removal, gecko control in Phu My Hung — loggias, villa gardens, shophouses

This page is about the Phu My Hung urban area, 433 hectares in the former District 7 of Ho Chi Minh City along Nguyen Van Linh, Nguyen Luong Bang and Ton Dat Tien, not Phu My in the Ba Ria – Vung Tau area. Since districts gave way to wards, the city's local units, on 1 July 2025 (Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15), it has lain in Tan My and Tan Hung wards.

Our technicians work in both wards regularly, 07:00 to 20:00 every day. A time is confirmed only when safety has been assessed, and nests tend to be treated while the colony is least active.

Phu My Hung keeps most of its land for trees and open space. Nguoi Do Thi magazine (2023) puts building density below 30% and greenery at about 8.9 m² per resident. So do individual projects, by their developers' and press accounts: Happy Valley leaves over 77% of its site open, with the Nam Sai Gon golf course and a landscaped river to the east and Saigon Wonderland park to the west; Scenic Valley builds on about 30% of its plot; Hung Phuc Premier stands in Nam Vien, which the developer calls the green core of the area; The Peak at Midtown adjoins Sakura Park and a broad stretch of river.

Trees close to the home are an asset, and a reason to look over a few spots each dry season and at the start of the rains (May to November), when new nests are small.

• Low-floor loggias and balconies near the trees: corners and window frames.
• Roof terraces of penthouses and duplexes: quiet corners, old pots, unused items.
• Villa yards: eaves, branches, tree hollows, wall cavities.
• Townhouse and shophouse roofs: roof gaps and vents without mesh.
• Balcony and garden lights, where insects gather and geckos follow.

In an apartment development not every spot is the owner's to deal with. We work for residents directly and are independent of the developer and the building managers.

Private loggias, balconies and roof terraces

Part of the apartment. Sky Garden has penthouses of roughly 174 to 500 m², usually with a roof terrace or wide balcony, and Happy Valley has two-storey duplexes. A terrace high up is surveyed like any outdoor area.

Shared parts, managed by the building. If you see a nest there, tell the management office.

Shared gardens, pools and play areas

Also the building's. Where children play, the first step is to report it so the area can be closed off.

Villa and townhouse gardens

The owner's. Villa streets often have guards who log visitors, so we send staff details ahead.

Shophouses

Booked before opening or on a day the shop is shut. Until then, keep customers away from the nest.

Wasps and hornets may attack together if the nest is knocked, and stings are more dangerous to small children, the elderly and people with allergies. So we look at the nest, in photos or on site, before naming a day. One photo from a distance usually identifies the insect: wasps are slender, yellow and black, with a papery nest; hornets are larger and may nest in a tree hollow, a wall or the ground; honeybees are small, hairy and golden brown, on wax comb.

Within reach

Ground-floor eaves, a low branch, a balcony corner: a technician in protective gear treats the nest and takes it down once the colony has gone quiet.

High up

A high balcony, a roof, a tall tree: we work only if there is a safe way to the nest (a fixed ladder, a railing, a working platform), using a harness when needed. Failing that, the quote explains the alternative, which may be access by dedicated lifting equipment.

Inside your wall, ceiling or duct

The technicians find where the colony enters. A hatch or duct cover is opened only with your agreement, and the entry is sealed afterwards.

Honeybees

Calmer when undisturbed. If conditions allow, the technicians relocate the colony instead of destroying it.

Safe first steps.

Geckos feed on mosquitoes, ants and small cockroaches and are not directly harmful as insects are. What people mind is the droppings on walls, curtains and worktops. We do not aim to kill them but to bring numbers indoors down and keep them from returning:

• Less food: insects come to light and geckos come to insects, so use fewer balcony lights, keep insect screens intact and control mosquitoes and cockroaches.
• Sealed entries: gaps at doors and aircon pipes, holes through walls, the space behind wardrobes and pictures, each noted in the Up Report.
• Humane deterrence, with catch-and-release where possible. No poison bait indoors, because of the risk to young children and pets.
• Crickets like damp, dark spots such as drain chambers, paving gaps and planters. Outdoors, rotting leaves are cleared, drain covers closed and the area treated by our technicians with products permitted in Vietnam.

How to keep them outside.

There is no single rate for every home. A nest in a loggia corner, within reach, may be quoted from photos or video; for one high up or inside a wall, or geckos and crickets through the whole home, we survey on site, free of charge. The all-inclusive price is sent in writing before the work and does not change unless you agree in writing.

• Species and nest size: wasp, hornet or honeybee; small and new, or large.
• Floor, height and access: ground level, a high loggia, a roof terrace, a tall tree; a fixed ladder or railing there already, or lifting equipment needed.
• Where the nest sits: outdoors, or in a wall, ceiling or duct that must be opened and sealed.
• Geckos and crickets: one room, the whole apartment, or a house with its garden.
• Follow-up and warranty: set by method and written in the quote.

To enter an apartment tower in Phu My Hung, outside staff usually have to be registered by the resident beforehand and show identification in the lobby; some buildings do not allow construction-type work at weekends.

• Until we come: do not poke, burn, hose or spray the nest; close the balcony door and nearby windows; keep children, staff and pets away.
• If someone is stung, leave the area. Difficulty breathing, heavy swelling, dizziness or many stings mean calling the emergency number 115 or going to the nearest medical facility.
• On the day, children and pets stay in a closed room until the time the plan states.

Enquiries, quotes, booking confirmations and the Up Report can all be in English. If you need an English-speaking specialist at home, tell us when booking; if we cannot arrange one, we let you know in advance and support you by phone or message.

If you are out

A key can be left with building management, reception or family; only the assigned specialist handles it and the times are recorded.

Payment and changes

Payment follows the walk-through, by bank transfer or cash; invoices are issued on request under Vietnamese regulations. Changes are free with 24 hours' notice; after that the fee is 30%.
