Where Phu My Hung is: the former District 7, now Tan My and Tan Hung wards
This page is about the Phu My Hung urban area, 433 hectares in the former District 7 of Ho Chi Minh City, around Nguyen Van Linh, Nguyen Luong Bang and Ton Dat Tien streets. The city stopped using districts on 1 July 2025 under Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15 and is now divided into wards, its local administrative units. The urban area, formerly in Tan Phu and Tan Phong wards, now lies in Tan My and Tan Hung.
Termite work in both wards is on our regular schedule, with bookings taken from 07:00 to 20:00 every day. A title deed or tenancy agreement showing the old ward is no obstacle: give us the project or street name, the type of home and the number of storeys, and we match the address.

Ten or fifteen years in the same house: why Phu My Hung homes are worth checking
Phu My Hung was built in stages, so buildings occupied for more than fifteen years stand beside ones handed over a few years ago. Age matters with termites: they hollow timber from the inside and stay out of the light, so by the time an owner notices them they have usually been there for months.
The ground is the second reason. According to Nguoi Do Thi magazine (2023), the south of the city was marshland over thirty years ago and is still low-lying and exposed to high tides. Phu My Hung floods rarely because of its planning: tide gates, a building density below 30% and about 8.9 m² of greenery per resident. Trees on low ground keep the soil around foundations moist, which is what subterranean termites need to nest.
- Villa yards: planter soil banked against the wall, trails of soil on veranda posts and front steps.
- Kitchen cabinets and built-in wardrobes fitted at handover: closed backs beside water pipes, not taken out for years.
- Timber staircases, skirting and ground-floor door frames: blistered paint, a dull sound when tapped.
- Low-floor apartments: built-in wardrobes and timber floors near the service shaft, balconies crowded with plant pots.
- Shophouses: ground-floor storerooms and the space under the stairs, stacked with cardboard and old paperwork.
- Not sure it is termites
- Look for three signs before sending us photos: tube-shaped trails of soil, timber that sounds hollow, and shed wings.

What our technicians and your Up specialist each do, by type of home
Our technicians choose the method after the survey: bait and monitoring stations, a localised residual treatment, soil treatment, or several together. Your Up specialist does not handle pest-control products; their job is to prepare the home, monitor each working point and hand it back clean.
- Villas lived in for many years
- Our technicians work from the yard inwards and from the ground floor up, checking timber staircases, built-in furniture and service risers. Your Up specialist covers marble, granite and timber floors and photographs each room as found.
- Multi-storey townhouses
- Mud tubes are traced from wall bases, the space under the stairs and the kitchen cabinets. Cupboard contents go into sealed boxes and are put back afterwards.
- Low-floor apartments
- The way in is usually the service shaft, electrical conduit in the walls, or timber furniture from a previous home. The front door stays closed, its gaps covered, during treatment.
- Shophouses and shops
- Booked for early morning before trading, or for a day the shop is closed. Display stock is photographed in position, covered, then returned to its place.
- Homes about to be renovated
- Mud tubes are easiest to see when old cabinets and flooring come out, so survey and treat before the new ones go in, and give us the works schedule. If the slab or foundations are being redone, see our pre-construction termite protection service.
How a termite quote for a Phu My Hung home is put together
We publish no price list for termite control. A built-in wardrobe with one fresh trail of soil and a villa where termites have reached the timber staircase are very different jobs, so we send a price only after the survey, which is free.
The written all-inclusive quote names each area to be treated and its method, the re-entry time (how long the area must stay empty), the follow-up inspections and the warranty terms. That price holds unless you approve a change in writing.
| Factor | How it affects the quote |
|---|---|
| Age, type and size | Older villas and townhouses usually have more finishes and timber fittings than a new apartment; floor area and storeys set the inspection time and the number of treatment points. |
| Garden | Whether the yard, planters, large trees and outdoor decking are in scope. |
| Spread | One door frame or wardrobe, or several rooms and floors. |
| Method | Bait and monitoring stations, residual treatment, soil treatment or a combination, with the follow-ups each requires. |
| Finishes to be removed | Built-in wardrobes, floorboards, panelling or skirting taken off or drilled for access. |
| Hours and formalities | The working hours your building allows; work outside a shophouse's opening hours. |
| Warranty | Written into the quote by method, with areas covered and exclusions; we fix no standard period in advance. |
Building rules, safety at home and care between inspections
Because termite treatment involves pest-control products, a management office in Phu My Hung tends to ask who is doing the work, when, and which areas are affected. Some apartment buildings bar construction-type work at weekends, so ask early if you want a Saturday or Sunday. We work for you directly and are not affiliated with the developer or any building's management company.
- Food, dishes and toys are put away or covered, and fish tanks covered; ask us beforehand about the air pump.
- During the re-entry time stated in writing, older relatives, anyone pregnant, young children and pets stay out of the treated area.
- Mud tubes in a service shaft or corridor concern the whole building: report them to the management office, because treating one apartment is not enough.
- Afterwards, repair damp patches and leaking pipes near kitchen cabinets and bathrooms promptly, and keep planters, mulch and roots away from the walls.
- Clear offcuts and old cardboard from under the stairs, storerooms and the garage; check second-hand timber furniture before bringing it in.
- Leave any monitoring station where it is, unopened; breaking into the slab or drilling walls after treatment may fall under the warranty's exclusions.
- Fine wood dust under furniture, with no soil
- Small round holes with fine powder beneath are the mark of woodworm, a different insect from termites; see our woodworm treatment service.
How to book a termite survey in Phu My Hung
- Message +84 968 726 135 on WhatsApp or Zalo with photos of the mud tubes, termite wings or damaged timber. Leave the mud tubes intact and do not spray anything yourself.
- We arrange the free survey; you then receive the plan and the all-inclusive quote in writing, with no obligation to decide at once.
- Once you confirm, we tell you what the household should prepare.
- During treatment your Up specialist stays beside our technicians at each working point, then cleans and puts belongings back.
- Your Up Report shows where treatment was carried out and where monitoring stations sit, with before-and-after photos and the next inspection date.
- Changing the appointment is free with at least 24 hours' notice; a later cancellation carries a 30% fee.
For international residents: English, registration, keys and payment
- English
- Enquiries, quotes, booking confirmations and the Up Report can all be in English. For an English-speaking specialist in the home, add a note when you book; if we cannot arrange one, we tell you beforehand and help by phone or message.
- Registering the visit
- Outside staff entering an apartment tower usually have to be registered by the resident beforehand. Before treatment day you receive your Up specialist's name, photo and contact number, with our technicians' details, for the management office or a villa street's security post.
- Keys when you are away
- You do not have to be at home. Leave the key with building management, reception, family or a representative you name; only the assigned specialist handles it, the times are recorded and keys are never copied. For a smart lock we recommend a temporary code; the walk-through can be by video call.
- Paying
- Payment follows the walk-through, by bank transfer or cash; on larger properties a deposit may be asked for and is stated in the quote. Invoices are issued on request under Vietnamese regulations, to individuals and companies, in the name of Uptech Technology Solution Company Limited (tax code 0316973414).
