Where Phu My Hung is, and which wards it is in now
This page covers the Phu My Hung urban area, 433 hectares in the former District 7 of Ho Chi Minh City, around Nguyen Van Linh, Nguyen Luong Bang and Ton Dat Tien streets. It is not Phu My in the Ba Ria – Vung Tau area. Under Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15 districts ended on 1 July 2025, and the urban area is now in two wards, the city's local administrative units: Tan My and Tan Hung.

Three generations under one roof: why machines here work harder
Tuoi Tre newspaper noted that Scenic Valley was aimed at families of several generations who want to live close together, and in such a home the washing machine runs often. With the Taipei, Japanese, Canadian International and Korean International schools nearby, uniforms and sports kit add regular loads, and the developments' pools (about 500 m² at Riverpark Premier, indoor and outdoor at Scenic Valley) send wet towels and swimwear home almost daily.
Every load leaves a little detergent, softener and lint behind. The more loads, the faster that layer thickens between the inner drum and the outer tub, so the usual interval of about 6 months for a machine in daily use can be too long for a big household.

The machine is as old as the building it came with
Phu My Hung was built in stages, and its towers differ in age by a decade or more. A machine supplied at handover is the same age, and the back of the drum and the rubber door seal are where dirt collects out of sight. Handover dates are those published by the developer and the press.

- Handover planned from the third quarter of 2010. Apartments of about 56–106 m², with bedrooms often beside the balcony where laundry dries.

- Handed over in 2015 and in early 2018.

- Handed over in late 2018 as planned, mostly three-bedroom homes; many families have used the same machine constantly for years.

- From August 2020, and from November 2021 for The Peak. A newer machine still needs its drum out once clothes smell or carry black flecks.
Drying balconies and swimming towels: keeping the drum dry between cleans
In a mid-sized apartment the service balcony often holds both the machine and the drying rack, so damp from the laundry hangs beside the machine. Developments next to water and greenery, such as Midtown and Happy Valley, add humidity of their own, and fabrics dry slowly in the rainy season. A few habits help:
- Leave the door or lid open after each wash so the seal and drum dry naturally; with small children or pets, shut the door to the laundry area when nobody is watching.
- Hang wet towels and swimwear on the balcony instead of leaving them in the drum or a closed bathroom.
- Once a week wipe round the door seal with a soft cloth to remove hair, lint and standing water.
- Run the tub-clean programme with the drum empty, as often as the manufacturer recommends, and never use two cleaning agents at once.

Apartments, villas and townhouses: where the machine stands and how it is cleaned
A photo of the rating label and one of the spot where the machine stands tell your specialist the model, the tools to bring and the time to allow.
- Apartment front-loader on the balcony
- Parts come off in the order the model requires; the door seal, detergent drawer and drain filter are cleaned with care. About 2–3 hours.
- Large top-loader in a villa or townhouse
- The kind used for duvets, sheets and curtains. The pulsator, the wash plate at the base of the drum, comes off first. About 1.5–2 hours.
- Laundry area on the top floor
- Tools go up the stairs, the route is protected, and the machine is cleaned where it stands.
- Cupboards and tight corners
- If the machine has to be pulled out, the specialist asks you first and protects the floor and walls.
- Washer-dryers and second machines
- A washer-dryer has a drying system to dismantle as well. Two machines, for instance one kept for baby clothes, are cleaned in one visit, each at its own price.
What it costs in Phu My Hung: price list and examples by household
Prices go by door type and the capacity on the rating label, each one all-inclusive for one machine: top-loader up to 9 kg 450,000 VND; top-loader over 9 kg 550,000 VND; front-loader up to 9 kg 690,000 VND; front-loader over 9 kg 790,000 VND. A washer-dryer adds 150,000 VND to the price for its door type and capacity. Drum removal, cleaning, reassembly, a test cycle and the Up Report are included.

- Nothing is added at your home without your written approval. Payment follows the walk-through, when the finished work is checked with you, by bank transfer or cash.

Booking, building rules and notes for international residents
- Message 0968 726 135 on WhatsApp or Zalo with the door type, the capacity, whether the machine dries, and a photo of the rating label. You receive the price in writing and choose a time.
- Apartment towers here usually want outside staff registered by the resident first, and some restrict construction-type work at weekends, so check with your management office before a weekend booking.
- Nguyen Van Linh is often congested at rush hour and a front-loader takes 2–3 hours; an early-morning or early-afternoon start usually works well.
- Before the visit, empty the drum and leave power and water connected. If the machine is under the manufacturer's warranty, read its terms first.
- English
- Enquiries, quotes, booking confirmations and the Up Report can all be in English. For a specialist who speaks English at your home, note it when you book; if that cannot be arranged, we tell you beforehand and help by phone or message.
- If nobody is home
- A key can be left with building management, reception or family, and is never copied; the walk-through can be by video call.
