Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15 of 16 June 2025 placed Thao Dien ward in the new An Khanh ward from 1 July 2025, together with Thu Thiem, An Loi Dong, the old An Khanh and the rest of An Phu. District-level government ended on the same date, so District 2 is now a familiar name and no longer an administrative unit; the ward is the local unit that remains.

A mattress is cleaned in the bedroom on whichever floor it is, with no carrying downstairs.

For the city as a whole, the Ho Chi Minh City government portal gives average relative humidity of 79.5% a year, about 80% in the rainy season from May to November, and about 1,949 mm of rain a year. No separate figures exist for the riverside, but close to the Saigon River and among trees, as in Thao Dien, the damp air is easy to feel.

A mattress takes in sweat and moisture every night and is almost never put out in the sun, which gives dust mites and mould the conditions they need. Dust mites are very small creatures that multiply where it is warm and damp and there are flakes of skin to feed on. In people sensitive to them, they can contribute to sneezing and an itchy nose on lying down.

A mattress cannot go in a washing machine, so we work in three stages: deep vacuuming in several passes, spray extraction with a controlled amount of water, then immediate moisture extraction so the core stays dry. Old stains that have soaked into the core usually fade and seldom vanish, and your specialist says so beforehand.

A villa or compound house in Thao Dien has a good number of mattresses on several floors, and each needs about 6–8 hours to dry. The visit starts in the morning with the main bedroom and the children's rooms, so the beds are ready by evening. When there are many mattresses the work can be split over two visits, so the family always has somewhere to sleep that night.

Thao Dien has a large international community: nearly 6,000 foreign residents of 102 nationalities, according to Tuoi Tre newspaper in 2020. Homes let to foreigners here mostly come furnished, mattress included, and nothing on the surface shows a new tenant how clean it is. Clean before closing up the house, so the bedrooms do not hold an odour while it stands empty.

Spring

The border and air vents are vacuumed first; the cover is spray-extracted with just enough water, because moisture in the spring unit takes a long time to leave.

Latex

No soaking, heat or strong sun. Very little water is used on the surface and it is extracted at once, so the mattress keeps its spring.

Foam and memory foam

The surface dents easily, so the vacuum head is moved lightly over several passes and the solution is sprayed in a thin film that does not sink in.

Cleaned in place in the same visit, with little water; quoted by size from a photo.

One side or both

Both sides for a two-sided mattress. For a one-sided one the top and border are usually enough, and your specialist says so at the start to spare you a needless cost.

Each mattress is priced by size: 350,000 VND for a single under 1.4 m, 450,000 VND for a 1.6 m queen and 550,000 VND for a 1.8–2 m king. Cleaning the underside as well adds 120,000 VND, and intensive dust-mite treatment adds 100,000 VND, per mattress. Your figure is sent before the booking is fixed and changes only with your written approval.

1-bedroom apartment

One queen, one side: 450,000 VND.

2-bedroom rental before a new tenant arrives

One king and one queen, both with dust-mite treatment: 550,000 VND + 450,000 VND + 2 × 100,000 VND = 1,200,000 VND.

3-bedroom river-view apartment

One king on both sides and two queens on one side: 550,000 VND + 120,000 VND + 2 × 450,000 VND = 1,570,000 VND.

Townhouse with a young child

One king on one side and the child's single with dust-mite treatment: 550,000 VND + 350,000 VND + 100,000 VND = 1,000,000 VND.

5-bedroom compound villa

Two kings on both sides with dust-mite treatment, two queens with dust-mite treatment and one single: 2,990,000 VND.

Many buildings ask non-residents to register and show ID at reception or with security, and to arrange lift use for equipment with building management; gated compounds usually do the same. Time spent on these formalities after an on-time arrival is not treated as lateness. Each side of a mattress takes about 45–60 minutes, and a mattress is usually dry in 6–8 hours, depending on the material and how well the room is aired.

• Run the aircon or a fan, or open the windows on a dry day; in long spells of rain, use the aircon's dry mode.
• Put the sheets back only when the surface is fully dry.
• Never put a latex or foam mattress out in direct sun to dry.

A clean surface over a damp core means the odour soon returns, so we concentrate on the part you cannot see and record it in photographs.

Free with at least 24 hours' notice; later than that, the fee is 30%.
