Where we take gas top-up bookings in Thao Dien
Thao Dien was a ward of the former District 2. Since 1 July 2025 the city has had wards, its local administrative units, without districts above them, and Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15 folded Thao Dien whole into An Khanh ward. An address written the old way is as good to us as the new one.
You will find our office in Sala, at 72 Nguyen Co Thach, which is the same ward. A pressure check or top-up can be booked for any day of the week between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

Ten-year-old apartments: is an old unit a unit that has run out of gas?
Thao Dien Pearl was planned for handover from late 2013 and The Ascent for late 2016. Units fitted when those homes were new have worked through many hot seasons, so when a room is slow to cool the first guess is that the gas has gone.
Age does not use up gas. Refrigerant, which everyone here calls gas, is sealed inside the pipework that joins the compressor to the outdoor and indoor units. In an older apartment the likelier cause is a filter, coil or outdoor unit thick with dust. A unit is short only if too little was put in at the start, if it has been moved or had its pipes repaired, or if there is a small leak.

Furnished rentals: an aircon that comes without a history
A 2020 Tuoi Tre article recorded almost 6,000 residents from abroad in Thao Dien, holding 102 nationalities. Homes let to them are mostly furnished, and the air conditioners come with the house. A new tenant receives the unit but not its past: nobody says whether it was once moved to another room, given longer pipes or opened up for a repair. A pressure reading answers that with a number.
- When you move in
- Ask for the pressure to be measured at the first clean. The figure for each unit in the Up Report then serves as the reference for the whole tenancy.
- Who decides and who pays
- The reading and the quote go to whoever made the booking, and gas is added only after the landlord or the tenant has replied yes. The invoice is made out to whoever pays.
- When you move out
- Landlords look hard at the air conditioners. The before-and-after readings are a reference only; damage and the deposit remain a matter between landlord and tenant.
Villas and compound houses: cassettes are priced after measuring
Compound houses and riverside villas in Thao Dien mostly have ceiling-mounted units, now and then with a floor-standing unit or a ducted system as well. The published rate is for wall-mounted units of up to 2 HP; HP, horsepower, is the capacity shown on the label. Other units get a price once the gauge is on and the label has been read, since the amount of gas depends on how powerful the unit is and how far its pipes travel.
- Reaching the outdoor unit
- The gauge is connected and the gas added at the service valve, and on most units that valve is part of the outdoor unit. Let us know where each outdoor unit is when you book, with a photo if you can.
- Safety limit
- The specialist works from a firm footing only. If the valve can be reached only with equipment for working at height, we describe the method beforehand and wait for you to approve it.
What a gas top-up costs in Thao Dien: the published rate and examples
Only one figure is published: a wall-mounted unit of up to 2 HP running on R32 or R410A is topped up from 250,000 VND, charged only after a low reading and your agreement. A reading taken during an aircon cleaning visit costs nothing. In the sums below, the cleaning amounts include the 10% reduction that begins with unit 3 of a visit.

How the visit goes, and where we stop
Repairs are outside what UpClean does: our specialists do not look for leaks, seal them or change parts. If the gauge reads low and there is also oil around a joint, frost where there should be none, or a figure lower than last time's, that goes into the Up Report, and the next step belongs to a repair company or the brand's own service centre. A stopgap top-up remains your choice, on the understanding that the gas may keep escaping.
- The unit is left to settle in cooling mode before the gauge goes on; on a cleaning day that happens once both units have been washed.
- A normal figure is written down and that is all. A low one, compared with the gas named on the label, comes with a quote, and the top-up waits for your yes.
- The gas added is the one on the label, never blended; afterwards the pressure is taken again and the unit run to test it.
- Warranty
- If the gas is added during a cleaning visit, the 90 days of cover that come with the cleaning apply to dripping water, unusual noise or a loss of cooling traced to the cleaning itself. Escaping gas, failed parts and faults in the original installation fall outside it.

- Quotes, pressure readings and the Up Report are written in English on request, as are our replies and the booking confirmation. Having an English-speaking specialist at the house needs a note at booking time; we tell you in advance if that cannot be done, and then help by message or phone.
- Registering the visit
- If your building requires residents to register visiting staff with management in advance, use the name and photo we send you before the visit.
- If you are out
- A key left with a family member, reception or building management is used by the assigned specialist only and is not copied. The figures and the quote come to you by message; no gas goes in before you answer.
