Former District 5 is now three wards: where we take bookings
On 1 July 2025, under Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15, the city replaced its districts with wards, and the former District 5 went to three of them. Four pairs of its old wards had already merged on 1 January 2025 (Ward 3 into 2, 6 into 5, 8 into 7, 10 into 11), so a deed or a shop sign may still show an old number; the house number and street are all we need.
District 5 is served by appointment, not on a regular round: bookings are taken in all three wards from 07:00 to 20:00, weekends included, with the time set around the shop's hours and parking outside.
- Cho Lon ward
- The old Wards 11 to 14, ward office at 279 Hai Thuong Lan Ong: the heart of the Chinese community's cultural life, with the traditional-medicine street, assembly halls and townhouses with French-period façades.
- An Dong ward
- The old Wards 5, 7 and 9, about 1.32 km², named after An Dong Market; homes that double as businesses, between commercial buildings.
- Cho Quan ward
- The old Wards 1, 2 and 4, about 1.28 km²: the Hospital for Tropical Diseases (once Cho Quan hospital), Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Saigon University and townhouses along the main roads.
Tall, narrow townhouses: where the outdoor unit hangs and why it clogs
Most homes here are narrow, deep townhouses of several storeys, often with a shop or stockroom on the ground floor. They rarely have a service balcony, so the outdoor unit hangs on a steel bracket on the façade, sits on the awning or the roof terrace, or is fixed to the wall of the light well at the back, and each position needs different access.
Façade units take road dust and exhaust, plus fine dust from traditional medicine, dried goods and fabric handled daily, and units hung side by side trap each other's hot air. Indoors, the shop unit runs all day as the roller shutter opens and closes; with average humidity around 79.5% and rain from May to November, the dust cakes onto the indoor coil.
- A shop filter that turns grey within weeks.
- A façade unit coated in black dust, its fan heavy and noisy.
- A top-floor bedroom under a metal roof that never quite cools.
- Condensate dripping onto the pavement or a neighbour's awning.
- A damp smell from a guest room or stockroom kept shut for days.

Can you clean ceiling cassettes and floor-standing units in a shop?
Yes. Many shops, clinics, small offices and eateries in District 5 cool the sales floor with a four-way cassette or a floor-standing unit, which draw in more dust, grease and lint than a bedroom unit. To keep the shop trading, your specialist can start early or clean one unit at a time; goods are covered with clean sheets and a collection bag hangs under each cassette.
- Ceiling cassette
- 550,000 VND per unit. Panel, filter, drip tray and fan cleaned in about 90–120 minutes, from a ladder held steady by a second person.
- Floor-standing
- 500,000 VND per unit, often at a shop entrance or in a ground-floor living room; time confirmed at booking.
- Ducted
- 700,000 VND per indoor unit where the ceiling has an access hatch; we ask for photos of the vents first.

What aircon cleaning costs in District 5: townhouse and shop examples
With three or more units in a visit, the two most expensive are charged in full and each unit from unit 3 onwards is 10% off, so most townhouses benefit. The totals below are calculated from the price list. Your specialist counts the units with you on arrival; any extra unit is cleaned only with your written agreement.
- Included: labour, tools, solutions, sheets over goods and furniture, the collection bag, the outdoor unit where safely reachable, and the Up Report.
- Gas is measured, never topped up unasked. A low unit up to 2 HP on R32 or R410A is topped up from 250,000 VND once you accept the quote; cassettes, floor-standing units and other gases are quoted after measuring.
- Businesses needing a VAT invoice should send their tax code with the booking.
- Three-storey townhouse
- Three 1–1.5 HP bedroom units and a 2 HP living-room unit: 1,000,000 VND.
- Shop below, family above
- One cassette in the shop and a 1–1.5 HP unit on each of three upper floors: 1,250,000 VND.
- Pharmacy or small clinic
- Two cassettes: 1,100,000 VND.
- Street-front showroom
- One floor-standing unit and two cassettes: 1,550,000 VND.
Reaching outdoor units on façades, roof terraces and light wells
Access needs planning. A photo of the outdoor unit from the balcony, a window or the roof terrace tells the specialist which ladder and how much hose to bring, and whether the work can be done from inside.
Up specialists never climb out onto a façade; an outdoor unit is rinsed only from firm footing, such as a balcony, a railed roof terrace or a window within reach. A unit hanging halfway up a third- or fourth-floor façade is flagged before the visit, and any alternative waits for your approval.
- Rinse water goes into the bag, never onto the pavement, an awning or the shop next door.
- On a metal-roofed terrace the specialist keeps off weak sections and checks the bracket first.
- On steep, narrow stairs, equipment goes up in small loads, clear of walls and handrails.
- Tell us where our motorbike can stop on a busy morning street.
How often each unit in a shop-house needs cleaning
| Unit | Suggested interval |
|---|---|
| Shop floor, counter or clinic, on all day | Every 2–3 months, washing the filter yourself every 2–4 weeks; traditional-medicine and dried-goods shops especially. |
| Bedroom used nightly | Every 3–4 months. |
| Altar room or little-used living room | Every 6 months, ideally before Tết. |
| Top-floor room beside the roof terrace | Before the hot season, around March or April. |
Booking an aircon clean in District 5

- Receive the price, a time outside the shop's busy hours, and the name and photo of your identity-verified specialist.
- On the day, altars, medicine cabinets and shelves are covered and photographed, and work runs from the top floor down: about 45–60 minutes per wall unit, 90–120 per cassette.
- Each unit is test-run and its outlet temperature taken with you; pay by bank transfer or cash. The Up Report, our photo record of the visit, arrives the same day.
- If we are more than 15 minutes late, that visit is 10% off. VAT invoices are issued by Uptech Technology Solution Company Limited (tax code 0316973414).
