Where we clean mattresses in the former District 5

Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15 placed the former District 5 in three wards from 1 July 2025. Four of its wards had been absorbed into neighbours in January 2025, so bills may show an old ward number; the house number and street are enough.

Mattress cleaning is booked by appointment in all three wards, any day from 07:00 to 20:00. We agree the time with each household, allowing for the hours a mattress needs to dry before bedtime.

Cho Lon
Made up of the old Wards 11, 12, 13 and 14; the cultural home of the Chinese community, with the Hai Thuong Lan Ong traditional-medicine street, assembly halls and many townhouses keeping their old architecture.
An Dong
Made up of the old Wards 5, 7 and 9 around An Dong Market; mostly townhouses that are both home and business, with commercial buildings between them.
Cho Quan
Made up of the old Wards 1, 2 and 4; the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, which began as Cho Quan hospital, old-established schools, townhouses and apartment blocks of many years' standing.

Bedrooms on the upper floors: heat, damp and dust

District 5 townhouses are mostly narrow, deep and tall, with the shop or store on the ground floor and the bedrooms stacked above. A bedroom under a metal roof or just below the roof terrace heats up at midday, the aircon struggles, and sweat soaks through the sheet into the mattress. With average relative humidity about 79.5% and long rains from May to November, a mattress in a room with little air dries very slowly.

On streets selling traditional medicine, dried goods and fabric, goods handled every day raise fine dust, and in a house with a store on the ground floor or in the loft it does not stay put. Dust, damp and sweat together give dust mites what they need.

  • Yellow patches where the head and back rest, worst in the top-floor room.
  • A damp smell from the guest-room mattress, though it is seldom used.
  • Fine dust along the seams and edges when the sheet is changed.
  • Sneezing or an itchy nose on lying down.

Shop-houses, timber lofts and older flats: arranging the visit

Cho Lon's early twentieth-century terraces are described with timber frames and carved doors, and many have since gained plank lofts and wooden stairs. The procedure stays the same; the arrangements change:

Shop on the ground floor
We come at a quiet time for the shop, follow the route you show us, take the equipment straight up to the bedroom and clean the mattress on the bed.
Plank loft or wooden stairs
Equipment goes up in small loads, and the boards around the mattress are covered so that no water sits on the timber.
Bedroom under the roof
Book a morning, before the room heats up, then open the door and run a fan so the mattress dries the same day.
Guest room
Can be added to the visit for the main bedroom; each mattress is priced separately.
Flat in an older block
Tell us if management or the residents' group must be notified; we send the specialist's name and photo before the day.

Latex, spring, foam or pressed cotton: the method for each

Tell us the type and age of the mattress, or send a photo of its side label, and your Up specialist, an identity-verified cleaner trained to the Up Standard, comes prepared:

Latex
Very little water, no heat and no strong sun; moisture is drawn straight out so the latex keeps its spring.
Spring
Solution is extracted the moment it is sprayed, so no water collects in the spring unit.
Foam
A light spray and several slow passes of the extraction head, so the surface neither dips nor loses shape.
Pressed cotton
Dense filling holds water for a long time; we look at photos first and take the job only if it can dry in time.
Topper
Cleaned in place during the same visit and priced by size.

What mattress cleaning costs in District 5

Prices are by width, for one side: 350,000 VND for a single under 1.4 m, 450,000 VND for 1.6 m, 550,000 VND for 1.8–2 m. Cleaning the underside as well adds 120,000 VND per mattress, and intensive dust-mite treatment adds 100,000 VND. Examples use the price list; your written quote is the figure that counts.

  • Included: solution, equipment, protective covers and extraction; nothing outside the quote is charged without your written approval.
  • Old stains usually fade rather than vanish; the expected result is stated beforehand and recorded in the Up Report.
Four-storey townhouse, three bedrooms
One 1.8 m, one 1.6 m and one single mattress, one side each: 1,350,000 VND.
Bedroom under the roof
One 1.6 m mattress, both sides: 570,000 VND.
Main bedroom and guest room
A 1.8 m mattress with dust-mite treatment and a 1.6 m mattress on one side: 1,100,000 VND.
Five bedrooms above a stockroom
Two 1.8 m, two 1.6 m and one single, all with dust-mite treatment: 2,850,000 VND.

Stairs, parking and drying

The mattress is cleaned in place, so only the equipment needs a clear path. District 5 stairs are often narrow, steep and sometimes timber, so it comes up in several small trips. Streets fill early and many have lorry delivery hours and limits on stopping; please tell us the nearest place to leave a motorbike. In older blocks that require notice, time spent on formalities after an on-time arrival does not count as lateness.

  • Strip the sheets, pillowcases and mattress protector before we arrive.
  • Move things away from the bed so all its edges can be reached, and leave a socket free.
  • Afterwards, keep the door open and a fan or the aircon running until the mattress is dry, usually 6–8 hours.

How often to clean, and booking

As a guide: about every 4 months above a shop or stockroom, ideally with dust-mite treatment; every 3–4 months for young children or older relatives; about every 6 months in a flat with little dust; and at least yearly in a guest room.

  • Send the number, size, type and floor of each mattress and your address to 0968 726 135 by phone, WhatsApp or Zalo, or use the Quote page.
  • Accept the written quote and choose a time from 07:00 to 20:00; the specialist's name and photo arrive the day before.
  • Each side takes about 45–60 minutes; you check every mattress with the specialist and receive drying advice.
  • Pay after the walk-through by bank transfer or cash. If we are more than 15 minutes late, that visit is 10% off; anything that falls short is redone free if you reply within 48 hours of the Up Report. VAT invoices are issued by Uptech Technology Solution Company Limited (tax code 0316973414).

One side: 350,000 VND for a single under 1.4 m, 450,000 VND for 1.6 m, 550,000 VND for 1.8–2 m. Both sides add 120,000 VND and dust-mite treatment 100,000 VND per mattress.

Do we have to bring the mattress downstairs?+

No. The specialist brings the equipment up and cleans the mattress on the bed, whichever floor it is on.

The bedroom is in the middle of the house and gets little sun. Can the mattress still dry?+

Yes. Water is drawn out during cleaning; afterwards open the door and run a fan or the aircon. After a late-afternoon visit, sleep elsewhere that night.

Can an old latex mattress be cleaned?+

Yes, with very little water and no heat. If the latex core is perished, crumbling or cracked, the specialist tells you before starting and notes it in the Up Report.

Will yellow sweat stains come out?+

Long-standing stains mostly fade. The specialist tells you what to expect and records it in the Up Report; we do not promise a mattress as white as new.

Can we arrange this in English, and do we need to be at home?+

Enquiries, quotes, booking confirmations and the Up Report can all be in English. To have a specialist who speaks English, say so when booking; if we cannot arrange one, we tell you in advance and support by phone or message. If your building registers outside staff, we send the specialist's name and photo. You need not be home: leave a key with family or the building, and do the walk-through by video call. Payment is by bank transfer or cash afterwards.
