District 8 today: three main wards, booked by appointment
On 1 July 2025, under Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15, the city replaced its districts with wards, the local administrative units, and most of the former District 8 became Chanh Hung, Phu Dinh and Binh Dong. Part of the old Ward 16 went to Binh Phu ward and Tan Nhut commune, the rest of the old Ward 7 to Binh Hung commune. Earlier in 2025 Wards 1–3 had become Rach Ong, Wards 8–10 Hung Phu and Wards 11–13 Xom Cui, so one house may have three versions of its address; give us the street or building name and we match it.
We take aircon bookings anywhere in the former district, 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, weekends included. Visits here are by appointment, and the exact time is set when we confirm.
- Chanh Hung ward
- Ward 4, Rach Ong, Hung Phu and part of Ward 5. Townhouses line the north bank of the Doi Canal, where renovation of about 4.3 km of the bank began on 13 August 2025.
- Phu Dinh ward
- Wards 14 and 15, Xom Cui and part of Ward 16, including Ben Binh Dong, the road along the Tau Hu Canal, with new apartments such as D-Aqua at number 301.
- Binh Dong ward
- Ward 6, part of Ward 7, the rest of Ward 5 and the former An Phu Tay commune: townhouses, alley houses and newer residential areas side by side.
Canal damp and roadworks dust: what they do to an aircon
The former District 8 is low ground crossed by the Tau Hu, Lo Gom, Doi and Te canals. Nearly 10 km of the Tau Hu and Lo Gom banks now have embankments, walkways and trees, and the Doi Canal's north bank is being rebuilt; the damp has not changed. Moisture off the water, on top of the city's average relative humidity of about 79.5% a year, keeps the indoor coil wet with condensation, and an uncleaned drip tray and drain grow a slimy film that makes the unit drip or smell damp.
Outdoor units on townhouse fronts near canal works also collect site and lorry dust. On Ben Binh Dong, the outdoor unit usually sits on a loggia over the canal and takes driving rain in afternoon storms; wet fins hold road dust, and left uncleaned, the deposit that forms reduces how well the unit sheds heat.
- A damp, musty smell for the first minutes after switching on, most of all after days of rain.
- Water dripping from the indoor unit because slime has blocked the tray and drain.
- A canal-facing living room in the afternoon sun that is slow to cool although the unit runs non-stop.

The air conditioners we find in District 8 homes and shops
Your Up specialist, the identity-verified UpClean team member who does the work, asks beforehand about the unit types and where the outdoor units hang.
- Apartment
- Small 1–1.5 HP wall units in the bedrooms (250,000 VND), a 2 HP unit in the living room (300,000 VND). The outdoor unit is on the loggia, where the specialist can stand and work comfortably.
- Canal-side townhouse
- Mostly wall units; a large living room may have a floor-standing unit (500,000 VND). Outdoor units sit on the front balcony or the roof terrace.
- Shop, eatery or shophouse
- Ceiling cassettes (550,000 VND, about 90–120 minutes each) or floor-standing units. Cooking grease coats filters fast, so the blower wheel and drip tray get extra care.
- Office or new build
- Ducted units concealed in the ceiling, 700,000 VND each; the access hatch must be large enough to work through.
How much does aircon cleaning cost in District 8?
One District 8 street may hold a new apartment, a canal-side townhouse and a street-front eatery, so here is an example for each. In one visit the units are ranked by price: the two most expensive are charged in full, and from unit 3 onwards each is 10% off. Totals come from the current price list, and the agreed price does not change on arrival unless you approve a new item in writing.
- A small unit means a 1–1.5 HP wall unit. Each total covers labour, tools, solutions, covers, the water-collection bag, the outdoor unit where safely reachable, and the Up Report, our photo record of the visit.
- When cooling is weak, the specialist cleans the coils first and only then measures the gas pressure, free. A top-up for a wall unit of up to 2 HP on R32 or R410A starts at 250,000 VND; other units are quoted after measuring, and nothing is topped up without your agreement.
- Two-bedroom apartment by the canal
- Two small units and a 2 HP unit: 775,000 VND.
- Three-bedroom apartment
- Three small units and a 2 HP unit: 1,000,000 VND.
- Three-storey townhouse on the Doi Canal
- A floor-standing unit and four small wall units: 1,425,000 VND.
- Eatery or shophouse
- Two ceiling cassettes downstairs and two small wall units upstairs: 1,550,000 VND.
- Alley house
- Two small wall units: 500,000 VND.
Ben Binh Dong apartments and canal-side houses: access and care
Apartment buildings on Ben Binh Dong usually register contractors in advance, set working hours and assign a lift for tools. We send your specialist's name and photo for reception; time spent waiting in the lobby after an on-time arrival is not counted as lateness.
Canal-side and alley houses have no gatekeeper, but lanes are narrow and parking is scarce where the road is being rebuilt; send a photo of the outdoor unit and the nearest motorbike parking. The outdoor unit, including one on a canopy over the front of the house, is rinsed only when the specialist can stand firmly inside a balcony, on a roof terrace or at a window frame; otherwise we tell you first and use another approach only with your agreement.
- Rinse water never goes into the canal or onto the walkway; it is bagged and emptied into the house drains.
- On low, damp ground floors, timber furniture and electrical items near the work are lifted and covered.
- Landlords can let us arrange the time directly with the tenant; report photos go to both.
How often to clean, and what each visit includes
- Bedroom unit on every night: every 3 months.
- Canal-facing living room in the afternoon sun: every 3–4 months, the first clean of the year in March or April.
- Eatery or shop open all day: every 2–3 months.
- After the rainy season, around November or December: one more clean to clear slime from the tray.
- Near a building site, rinse the filter about every two weeks.
- Up Report
- Filters, indoor coil and outdoor unit before and after, with notes, by WhatsApp or Zalo. Reply within 48 hours and any item that falls short is redone free.
- 90-day warranty, punctuality
- Drips, unusual noise or weaker cooling caused by the cleaning are put right at no charge. More than 15 minutes late means 10% off that visit.
