Washing machine cleaning in District 8 — Chanh Hung, Phu Dinh, Binh Dong

District 8 renamed its wards twice during 2025: in January, when nine old wards merged into Rach Ong, Hung Phu and Xom Cui, and from 1 July, when Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15 ended districts across the city and gave most of this area to three wards, today's local administrative units. Slices of the old wards 16 and 7 now belong to Binh Phu ward and to Tan Nhut and Binh Hung communes.

Bookings are accepted anywhere in the former district, from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily. District 8 is served by appointment, so the time we reach you is agreed at booking. Old ward, new ward or building name: any will do.

Chanh Hung

Rach Ong and Hung Phu plus the old ward 4 and a share of ward 5. Townhouses line the north bank of the Doi canal, where renovation of about 4.3 km started on 13 August 2025.

Phu Dinh

Xom Cui with the old wards 14 and 15 and a share of ward 16. Ben Binh Dong follows the Tau Hu canal here, with new apartments such as D-Aqua at number 301.

Binh Dong

The old ward 6, the leftover part of ward 5 and a share of ward 7, merged with An Phu Tay commune; newer housing between townhouses and alleys.

This is low land, ringed and cut through by the Tau Hu, Lo Gom, Doi and Te canals. Almost 10 km of new embankment with walkways and trees follows Tau Hu and Lo Gom past Phu Dinh, Me Coc and Ben Binh Dong, yet the air by the water stays humid: the city's relative humidity averages around 79.5% a year, and the rains last from May to November.

A washing machine is never fully dry. After every load some water stays in the folds of the door seal, in the detergent drawer and between the inner drum and the outer tub. In a dry room it is gone within the day; in a ground-floor laundry corner near a canal it lingers, and damp detergent residue hardens into the build-up behind sour smells and black flecks on clothes. On the canal-facing loggias of Ben Binh Dong apartments, heavy rain splashes the casing, and near the bank works soil dust settles on the lid and finds its way into the drum.

High tides still reach some low streets here. Thanh Nien newspaper reported water entering homes on Phu Dinh street, in the old ward 16, on the evening of 16 November 2024, even where floors had been raised. A ground-floor laundry area takes the worst of that damp.

Drum removal is maintenance, not repair. If floodwater touched the machine and it now shows an error, will not run or is unusually loud, have a repair service check the electrics and parts first. The machine's drain filter, lint trap and drain hose are included; the house's floor drains and gullies are not.

Mostly front-loaders, sometimes a washer-dryer where there is little space to hang clothes; about 2–3 hours.

Townhouses by the canals

Usually top-loaders, about 1.5–2 hours, with careful work under the pulsator (the wash plate at the bottom of the drum) and round the base of the outer tub.

Clean before a new tenant moves in and keep the Up Report on file.

Japanese-market machines and one-piece tubs

Where the outer tub is moulded in one piece, we say what can be cleaned before accepting the job; Japanese domestic-market machines are priced only after we see photos.

One fixed price per machine, set by door type and the capacity on its label: top-loaders 450,000 VND up to 9 kg and 550,000 VND above; front-loaders 690,000 VND up to 9 kg and 790,000 VND above; a washer-dryer adds 150,000 VND.

Buildings on Ben Binh Dong usually want advance notice of service staff, keep to set working hours and send equipment up in the goods lift. The specialist's name and photo reach you early for reception; time spent on lobby formalities after an on-time arrival is not lateness. Canal-side and alley houses need no registration, but fencing for the Doi canal works can change the usual route, so describe the easiest way in or send a map pin.

For a machine used daily, plan a drum-removal clean about every six months, sooner for a large family or young children. In a humid home, leave the door and drawer open after each wash (shut the laundry door if small children or pets are about), wipe a front-loader's seal weekly, dry a loggia machine's lid after rain and hang washing as soon as the cycle ends.
