Mattress cleaning in Tan Binh — Tan Son Nhat, Tan Son, Bay Hien

In 2019 the former Tan Binh District had nearly 475,000 residents on about 22.4 km², with Tan Son Nhat International Airport along its northern side. On 1 July 2025, when the city moved from districts to wards alone (Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15), its fifteen numbered wards were regrouped into six named ones, mostly three old wards each; Ward 15 was divided between Tan Binh ward and the new Tan Son ward.

Deeds and room leases often keep the old ward number, so a house number and street are all we need. Bookings run from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, weekends included; as Tan Binh is outside our regular rounds, the arrival time is set for each booking.

With the airport taking much of the land, tube houses stand wall to wall; in 2013 Tuoi Tre described an alley on Pham Van Bach where more than twenty houses were built against the airport fence. Back bedrooms often have few windows, and front rooms of shopfront houses face heavy traffic.

Noise and dust from the runway and from Cong Hoa, Truong Chinh and Hoang Van Thu keep many windows shut and the aircon running. Fibres and hair settle on the mattress, sweat soaks in each night, and with humidity averaging about 79.5% and rain from May to November, a mattress in a room with little sun stays damp for long. Dust, damp and sweat together suit dust mites.

Near the airport many townhouses are let as rooms or small hotels, more so since Terminal T3 opened in April 2025. In the 1990s the Bay Hien weaving village had about 1,700 households at the looms, and many workshops later became rooms to let. Around Tan Binh Market, with over 3,000 traders mostly in clothing and fabric, families often live above their stock.

Pressed cotton or thin floor mattress

It holds water, so we see photos first and accept only if it can dry in time.

One side of each mattress: 350,000 VND for a single under 1.4 m, 450,000 VND for 1.6 m, 550,000 VND for 1.8–2 m. The underside adds 120,000 VND; intensive dust-mite treatment adds 100,000 VND per mattress. Your formal quote comes in writing before the appointment.

• Solutions, equipment, covers and moisture extraction are included; anything extra needs your written agreement. Old stains usually only fade, and the likely result is stated beforehand.

Many alleys are too narrow to turn a vehicle, so tell us where to park, the floor and the width of the stairs. Landlords should send a timetable of empty rooms. Strip the bed beforehand, then keep the door open and a fan running: drying takes about 6–8 hours, and a rented room should stay empty until then.
