Mattress cleaning in District 10 — Hoa Hung, Vuon Lai, Dien Hong

District 10 was reorganised twice in 2025. At the start of the year Ward 5 went into Ward 8, Ward 7 into Ward 6 and Ward 11 into Ward 10. From 1 July, under Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15, the whole district became three wards, the local units that now stand in for districts: Dien Hong, Vuon Lai and Hoa Hung. It is small, about 5.72 km², yet had over 364,000 residents at the end of 2024.

Dien Hong ward

According to the Saigon Giai Phong newspaper in 2022, District 10 still had 23 apartment blocks and 2 housing estates built before 1975, about 3,378 flats in all. Complexes such as Ngo Gia Tu rise about four storeys with no lift and narrow stairs. Carrying a 1.6 m mattress down four flights to a laundry is close to impossible for many families, especially with older relatives at home.

These flats are small, the bedroom often adjoins the kitchen and windows face the shared corridor, so cooking smoke reaches the bedding. On lower floors, old walls can take in damp in the rainy season, and a mattress edge pushed against them starts to smell.

Care at home between visits.

Prices are per mattress, by width, for one side. Cleaning the underside too adds 120,000 VND; intensive dust-mite treatment adds 100,000 VND. These examples use the published list for typical District 10 homes; every booking gets a written quote first.

Streets here are busy, so tell us the nearest place to leave a motorbike. In older blocks a guard or the neighbourhood group often notes visitors; many newer towers want them registered in advance. Your specialist's name and photo reach you beforehand, and a wait for formalities after arriving on time does not count as late.

• In a small flat, clear a path around the bed for the machine.
• Afterwards open the windows or run a fan or the aircon so the mattress dries right through; allow 6–8 hours.

Keep the bed a few centimetres from an old wall and blot spills rather than scrubbing.
