District 10 after 2025: where we survey
Since 1 July 2025, under Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15, the former District 10 has consisted of three wards, the local units that replaced districts. More than 364,000 people lived on its 5.72 km² or so at the end of 2024, so houses share walls and flats share corridors. For mosquitoes that has a simple consequence: water standing next door is your concern too.
Surveys are by appointment in all three wards, between 07:00 and 20:00 daily. Please contact us first: the date and time are confirmed when you book, allowing for building rules and street parking.
- Dien Hong
- The old Wards 6 and 8 with part of Ward 14, close to 1.9 km², around Thong Nhat Stadium on Dao Duy Tu. Many townhouses are home and shop at once.
- Vuon Lai
- The old Wards 1, 2, 4, 9 and 10 on about 1.3 km², a dense grid of townhouses around an apartment estate built in 1968.
- Hoa Hung
- The old Wards 12, 13 and 15 and the rest of Ward 14, about 2.6 km². Ha Do Centrosa Garden, eight 30-storey towers and 115 terraced houses on 3 Thang 2 Street, is here; outside staff follow its management's rules.
Houses wall to wall, narrow balconies: where water collects
Vietnam's Ministry of Health and the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City say the Aedes mosquito, which spreads dengue, lays its eggs in fairly clean water standing in containers around the home and bites mainly by day, especially early morning and late afternoon. So the first job in a crowded district is finding the water.
Saigon Giai Phong recorded 23 apartment blocks and 2 housing estates from before 1975 in District 10 in 2022, about 3,378 flats. Many are about four storeys, reached by stairs, with windows onto a shared corridor and aircon units on iron brackets or narrow balconies, where a container is easily forgotten. In lane townhouses, rainwater lies on the roof terrace, in leaf-blocked gutters or in a tank with a loose lid, out of everyday sight. Your Up specialist checks each point within safe reach with you; a high roof or a gutter with no walkway or railing is recorded for a separate survey.
- Balconies and window racks: plant saucers, empty pots, blocked floor drains.
- Around the aircon: drip trays and buckets catching condensation.
- Roof terraces and the lane: puddles, gutters, open tanks, tarpaulins, blocked drain pits by the door.
Walk-up flat, lane townhouse, student rooms, clinic: how the visit is organised
Our technicians propose the area and method after seeing the home; preparation depends on the building.
- Flat in an older block
- The flat and its own balcony, with equipment kept out of the walkway; shared corridors and stairs enter the plan only if the residents' committee or the floor's other households agree.
- Multi-storey lane townhouse
- From the drain pit at the door to the roof terrace, via balconies, gutters and the tank; containers are cleared and furniture and laundry covered before the technicians start.
- House let as student rooms
- Common near Bach Khoa, the University of Technology on Ly Thuong Kiet. Pick a time when rooms are empty or tell tenants; rooms, bathrooms and the drying area are checked in one visit.
- Clinic, pharmacy or shop
- Before or after opening hours; examination couches, medicine shelves and equipment are covered as the technicians direct, and reopening follows the re-entry time.
- Newer developments
- For a low-floor flat or a balcony full of plants, standing water is checked first; if spraying is still needed, our details reach you in advance for registration.
Who sprays, and who prepares
An UpClean technician chooses the method and applies the product, which carries a valid registration number in Vietnam, is on the permitted list and is used as the label directs. Your Up specialist, the UpClean staff member looking after your booking, never holds the sprayer.
- Technicians
- Space spraying lowers adult numbers quickly; treating the surfaces where mosquitoes rest lasts longer. The choice, or a mix, depends on numbers and on children, pets or fish tanks; product, areas, re-entry time (how long to stay away) and repeat schedule are set out in writing beforehand.
- Up specialist
- Clears water containers within safe reach, covers fish tanks, kitchenware and toys, keeps spraying to the agreed area, wipes furniture after the re-entry time and writes the Up Report.
- Fewer chemicals
- If you prefer less use of chemical products, say so at the survey; the technicians consider it within the permitted list.
How mosquito control is priced in District 10
There is no published rate: a small flat with one balcony and a multi-storey townhouse with a roof terrace and a shop are different jobs. After the free survey, the all-inclusive written quote states where we spray, by which method, how long to stay away and when it is repeated; the price changes only with your written approval. It depends on:
- Type and size of home: floors, rooms, balconies and roof terraces to be treated.
- How many places can hold water: pots, drain pits, gutters, tanks, things kept outdoors.
- Shared areas, if included: corridors, stairs, the drying yard of a rented house.
- The method and the repeat treatments needed in the rainy season.
- Any warranty terms are part of the written quote; there is no single period for every home.
Management, shared corridors and neighbours: before the day
Building rules differ (Circular 05/2024/TT-BXD sets what they must cover), and many require service staff to be registered. In older blocks without professional management, tell the residents' committee and the households on your floor, especially as pest-control products are used. We send your Up specialist's name and photo and our technicians' details to pass on.
- Tell us early about small children, older relatives, anyone with a breathing condition, and pets or fish.
- Bring in laundry, put away toys and pet bowls, cover fish tanks and water containers as directed, and keep windows shut during spraying; ask neighbours to close corridor-facing windows.
- Re-enter only when the re-entry time is over; your Up specialist tells you when. A wait for registration in the lobby after an on-time arrival does not count as lateness.
After the visit, and how to book
One spraying holds for a period only, since mosquitoes from next door or the lane behind still come in. The rainy season, usually about May to November, is when the health sector advises stepping up dengue prevention; its message is no larvae, no dengue. Home spraying does not replace the authorities' measures, and anyone with a high fever should be taken to a medical facility.
- Each week, empty plant saucers and turn over unused buckets; keep tanks and jars covered and change vase water often, the altar vase included.
- Check drip trays, the tray under the fridge, balcony drains and insect screens on corridor-facing windows.
- Sleep under a net, by day too, and cooperate when the local health team sprays an outbreak.
- To book, call or message 0968 726 135 (Zalo, WhatsApp) with your address, type of home, floor, when mosquitoes are worst and photos of the balcony or roof terrace. Moving or cancelling is free with 24 hours' notice; later, the fee is 30%.
