Four wards since 2025, and how bookings work here
Boundaries in the former District 6 moved twice in 2025. On 1 January, wards 3 and 4 were folded into ward 1, ward 6 and part of ward 5 into ward 2, and the rest of ward 5 into ward 9. From 1 July, Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15 made the whole area four wards, which replaced districts as the local unit in addresses. An old signboard or invoice address still works; we match by house number and street.
This is not one of our regular areas. We accept bookings in every ward, 07:00–20:00 daily, and set the arrival time when you book, allowing for loading hours around the market.
- Binh Tay ward
- The old wards 2 and 9, about 1.05 km², named after the market the merchant Quach Dam built, with over 2,000 stalls and wholesale townhouses around it.
- Binh Tien ward
- The old wards 1, 7 and 8: small shops in terraced houses along the road, residential alleys behind.
- Binh Phu ward
- The old wards 10 and 11 and part of ward 16 of the former District 8, about 2.86 km², crossed by Vo Van Kiet Avenue; mostly townhouses and alley homes.
- Phu Lam ward
- The old wards 12, 13 and 14, directly north of Binh Phu: multi-storey houses in the alleys, rows of shops on the main roads.
Living above the shop: why one machine works harder here
Around Binh Tay Market, in the long-established Cho Lon area, a townhouse's ground floor is often a shop or a wholesale store for fabric, packaging, dry goods or household wares, with the family upstairs and sometimes a helper or employees living on the mezzanine. One machine washes for all of them and may run several loads a day.
Clothes worn on the stall or for packing bring cardboard dust, lint and dust from dry goods into the wash. With detergent residue it can settle between the tubs and collect in the drain filter; a full filter means slow draining, longer cycles and smelly clothes. Older townhouses are deep and narrow, lit from the front and a light well, so a laundry corner further back gets little sun or air; in the rainy season, with relative humidity around 80%, the drum is slow to dry after each load and mould can form on the door seal and detergent drawer.
- Work uniforms and aprons that still smell damp after washing, and water draining a little slower each week.
- Black flecks on towels and pale shirts, or black spots on a front-loader's door seal.
- A bad smell on opening the machine in the morning, even after washing the night before.

Top-loader, front-loader or washer-dryer: what is done to each
Before the visit, send three photos: the front of the machine, its rating label and where it stands, plus the floor and stair width if it is upstairs. Your Up specialist, an identity-verified UpClean staff member, then knows the model and brings the right tools.
- Large top-loader
- The usual choice for a big household. The pulsator, the wash plate at the bottom, is lifted out and the drum separated from the outer tub so that the shaft and base can be scrubbed; about 1.5–2 hours. Over 9 kg it is 550,000 VND, up to 9 kg 450,000 VND.
- Front-loader
- More parts come off, with attention to the folds of the door seal and the detergent drawer; about 2–3 hours. 690,000 VND up to 9 kg, 790,000 VND above that.
- Washer-dryer and special cases
- A washer-dryer adds 150,000 VND for the drying system. A one-piece outer tub comes apart differently, and we say beforehand what can be cleaned; Japanese domestic-market and commercial machines are quoted after a photo survey.

What it costs in District 6: worked examples
Prices follow door type and capacity: up to 9 kg, 450,000 VND for a top-loader or 690,000 VND for a front-loader; over 9 kg, 550,000 VND or 790,000 VND. A washer-dryer adds 150,000 VND. Several machines go into one visit, each at its own price.
- Each price covers the operating check, drum removal, cleaning of both tubs, reassembly, one test cycle and the Up Report, the before-and-after photo record.
- Commercial, Japanese-market and hard-to-reach built-in machines are quoted from photos. If a machine differs from its description, the written price changes only with your written agreement.
- Payment follows sign-off. Household businesses wanting a VAT invoice send their details when booking; it is issued by Uptech Technology Solution Company Limited (tax code 0316973414).

Choosing the hour, and getting to the machine
The wholesale streets are busiest from early morning to midday; in Binh Phu and Phu Lam most families keep office hours. One machine takes 1.5–3 hours. The way upstairs often crosses the shop and climbs a steep back staircase, but the drum is cleaned beside the machine and no part leaves the house.
- Empty the drum and clear anything on or around the machine. If it stands on an uncovered roof terrace, say so and we avoid a time of heavy rain.
- Wholesale house near the market
- From early afternoon, after the peak. Keep a path about one person wide to the stairs.
- Home with live-in staff
- The machine is out of use for a session, so do the washing the day before.
- Binh Tien home with grandparents
- Mornings often suit, with an adult in to open up and watch the test run.
- Townhouse in Binh Phu or Phu Lam
- Late afternoon or a weekend. In an alley your specialist parks at the entrance and walks in; a relative can sign off for you.
Commitments, upkeep and links

- Anything below standard is redone free if you tell us within 48 hours of the Up Report; report damage within 24 hours with photos, checked against those taken first.
- Cleaning, not repair
- A noisy bearing, a leak or a fault is noted in the Up Report for a repairer of your choice.
