Four wards, by appointment: how a survey is booked
Since 1 July 2025, under Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15, the former District 11 has been four wards, the units that replaced districts in addresses, with more than 310,000 people (end of 2024) on roughly 5.14 km². Where an alley is one motorbike wide, houses on opposite sides look into each other's windows, and mosquitoes cross from home to home.
We survey in all four wards between 07:00 and 20:00, seven days a week, by appointment. Call or message first; the time is confirmed when you book, once we know where to park and when your shop or workshop pauses.
- Minh Phung
- Old wards 1, 7 and 16, about 1.27 km², the most populous of the four; papers that still say ward 16 now mean Minh Phung.
- Binh Thoi
- Old wards 3 and 10 with part of ward 8, about 1.52 km², including Dam Sen Cultural Park on Hoa Binh Road.
- Hoa Binh
- Old wards 5 and 14, about 0.98 km², the smallest ward in the city after the reorganisation, home to the Dam Sen flower market and Giac Sanh Pagoda.
- Phu Tho
- Old wards 11 and 15 and the remainder of ward 8, about 1.37 km²: shops on the main roads, alleys behind.
Where mosquitoes rest and breed in a tall, narrow house
Alley houses here are narrow and tall, with few windows and a small light well, so many corners stay dim and damp all day. Spots behind curtains, under beds and inside wardrobes are where adult mosquitoes rest by day, and with rain from May to November and average humidity around 79.5% a year, they are slow to dry.
The ground floor is often a workshop, a supplies shop, a repair shop or a breakfast eatery, with the family upstairs. Buckets, bins and tarpaulins over goods on the porch or roof terrace hold rainwater, and according to Vietnam's Ministry of Health and the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, the striped Aedes mosquito that spreads dengue lays its eggs in fairly clean water in containers of exactly this kind. Other spots we check:
- Roof terrace puddles, gutters full of leaves and tanks without lids.
- Aircon drain pipes dripping into basins on the alley side; blocked drain pits.
- The drip tray under the fridge, stored water in the bathroom, and altar vases whose water has not been changed for a while.
- Torn insect screens and gaps where aircon pipes pass through bedroom walls.
How the survey differs by type of building
Our technicians propose a plan only after walking the whole property, with your Up specialist, the UpClean staff member assigned to your home.
- Home with a workshop
- You agree which areas to clear; materials, finished goods and machines are covered and photographed, and the plan states how long workers must keep out.
- Narrow multi-storey house
- From the drain pit at the front door up to the roof terrace, landing by landing. Altars are covered, and a corrugated or weak roof is only noted, never walked on without safe footing.
- Estate flat
- The scope stays inside the flat and its balcony; shared walkways are added only if the neighbours or residents' group agree.
- Shop or breakfast eatery
- Done on a closed day or at a quiet hour, with food, utensils and goods on display shut away or gathered under a tarpaulin first.
- Flower and plant sellers
- Near the Dam Sen flower market, soaking buckets and pot saucers need regular emptying, and the spray area is drawn to avoid stock on display.
What the written plan sets out
The technicians send the plan before the appointment. Products come only from the permitted list, carry a valid registration number in Vietnam and are applied as the label directs; the product is named in your plan, since the choice depends on the method and the household.
- Where and how
- Areas marked floor by floor, and places to avoid such as the kitchen, goods and fish tanks. Space spraying acts fast but briefly; treating resting surfaces lasts longer; a drain pit gets its own treatment.
- Re-entry time
- How long people, pets and the workshop must stay out, repeated by your Up specialist on the day.
- Repeat visits
- An interval proposed from the method and the activity found, usually planned through the rainy season.
- Fewer chemicals
- Ask at the survey; it is weighed within the permitted list, alongside removing standing water.
What the price depends on in District 11
There is no price list and no quote by phone: a two-storey alley house with one roof terrace and a home whose ground floor is a workshop full of goods are different jobs. After the free survey you receive an all-inclusive written quote; anything outside it is done only with your written agreement. It reflects:
- Storeys, and outdoor areas such as the roof terrace, porch, balconies and light well.
- How much of the building is workshop, store or shop, and the goods and machines to cover.
- Drain pits, gutters, tanks and containers to check and clear.
- The method, the repeat visits in the rainy season, and wiping down afterwards.
- Warranty: any terms are written into your quote; there is no general period.
Preparing the house, and spraying day
The team parks where you suggest and walks the equipment in. To prepare:
- At the survey, tell us about young children, older people, anyone with a breathing condition, and any pets, caged birds or fish.
- Bring in laundry, toys and pet bowls; cover fish tanks and water containers; stop workshop machines; ask next door to shut windows facing the alley.
- On the day your Up specialist empties standing water within safe reach, covers goods and stays with the technicians throughout. Heavy rain or strong wind means a new date.
- After the re-entry time your Up specialist wipes down, puts goods back and sends the Up Report: areas treated floor by floor, water points removed and spots to watch.
Dengue season: weekly habits, and how to book
The health sector puts removing breeding sites first, so that no larvae can develop. Spraying a home reduces adult mosquitoes for a while and does not replace the health authorities' measures; when the local authority sprays an outbreak area, please cooperate. Anyone with a high fever should be examined at a medical facility, not treated at home.
- Once a week, tip out water on the roof terrace, turn buckets over and clear gutters within safe reach.
- Change vase water often and keep jars and tanks covered; sleep under a net, by day too.
- If mosquitoes increase again, send us a photo of the suspect spot rather than spraying several products yourself.
- To book, message or call 0968 726 135 on Zalo or WhatsApp with the address, storeys, any workshop or shop, and a roof-terrace photo. Moving or cancelling is free with 24 hours' notice, otherwise the fee is 30%; a specialist over 15 minutes late means 10% off that visit.
