Carpet and rug cleaning in Thu Duc — Hiep Binh, Van Phuc City, Linh Xuan

The name can mean the old district, which lasted until the end of 2020; Thu Duc City, formed in 2021 from that district plus Districts 2 and 9; or today's Thu Duc ward. On 1 July 2025, Resolution 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15 reorganised the city into 12 wards, the units that replaced districts. Here, Thu Duc means the four that cover the old district.

In Hiep Binh, Van Phuc City and Opal Riverside sit close to the Saigon River, and most living-room rugs there are still fairly new. The risk is the rainy season: from May to November average relative humidity is around 80%, according to the Ho Chi Minh City government portal, and river damp lingers in the backing of thick rugs left for months under a sofa.

On National Route 13, Pham Van Dong, Kha Van Can and Vo Nguyen Giap, street-front houses usually trade downstairs and live upstairs, so a shop-floor rug takes road dust with every step through the door. Near University Village and the metro line, a rug in a let room changes hands with each lease and, unless cleaned in between, passes the last tenant's spills to the next.

Wool holds water and fuzzes under hard scrubbing, so it gets a gentle wool solution, little water and no stiff brushes.

Fringes cleaned by hand. A valuable rug, or one needing an immersion wash, is assessed first, with clear advice before you decide.

• Any change to scope or price needs your written agreement.

Put the rugs from all your rooms in Linh Xuan or Tam Binh into one visit: the 350,000 VND minimum applies to the visit total, not room by room. The Up Report shows each rug before and after, noting old marks that may not lift fully, for your handover file, and a manager you authorise can sign off.

• Book the gap between tenancies, once the room is cleared, so each rug has 4–8 hours to dry.
• Send a photo of each rug with its room number.
• Mention ink, sauce or pet accidents in advance.
• If a backing has come away or rotted from damp, you hear how far it can improve before work starts.

Apartment buildings and gated urban areas often want service staff notified in advance, check ID at the gate and require the goods lift. We ask about the rules where you live and send the specialist's name and photo in time to register; waiting for formalities after a punctual arrival is not counted as lateness.

Rugs are cleaned where they lie, so the specialist needs only the parking spot, the floor and, for a shopfront, the quiet hours. Dirty water goes into the machine's tank, never into the alley.

• Clear small items off the rugs; light furniture is photographed, then moved by the specialist.
• Keep heavy furniture off until the rug is fully dry.
• Leave a power socket free; air the room afterwards.
